#Editorial by AppleDailyHK | "From a macro perspective, we can see the “improve electoral system” has taken #HongKong’s political system back to the 80s of the last century and will stay there for a long time."

"單從宏觀角度看已可知道今次「完善選舉制度」將令香港政制回到上世紀80年代前,並且長期凍結。林鄭及她的官員們不管如何「解說」都難以說服市民相信今次政改不是民主大倒退,更難以說服市民未來香港立法會選舉仍是民主選舉。"

#Opinion by Koo Shu-wai 顧書維|"The government always asks the public to view the administration “rationally” and to actively offer their opinions. However, the tobacco tax increase does not conform to the principle of rationality no matter in terms of “instrumental” or “value.” Is the COSH’s proposal to do the opposite for the benefit of self-complacency, or to tempt relevant departments to ignore the needs of the public and become enemies of the people?"

Astronomers have discovered mysterious circles in the cosmos using a new massive radio telescope in Western Australia. It was so surprising that initially they called it "WTF?", but later renamed them more soberly as Odd Radio Circles (ORCs).
In this BBC interview, astronomer Ray Norris’s excitement is palpable and infectious. These unusual objects cannot be explained by current theories, but he hopes this unexpected discovery will open up a whole new understanding of our universe and how it works.
Whether it’s discovering mysterious radio emissions or developing vaccines against COVID-19, science is exciting and important. The scientific mindset – exploring the world and understanding it rationally and empirically – is crucial to Singapore. This is true not just in R&D work, but more fundamentally to the ethos of our whole society.
I chaired the Research, Innovation and Enterprise Council (RIEC) meeting last night. Our continued investments in R&D will sustain our competitiveness and bolster our status as a tech and innovation hub. We discussed and settled our five-year RIE2025 plan. With the profound uncertainties ahead, RIE2025 will be a crucial differentiator in refreshing our economic strategy, and securing our future for a post-COVID world.

?? THE POWER OF SELF-AWARENESS ??❤️
We’ve all heard of words like self-esteem, self-confidence, and self-worth ... but how about self-awareness? What exactly is self-awareness and what is the power of self-awareness?
Self-awareness is the ability to focus and evaluate our thoughts, feelings and actions. It ultimately allows us to master our emotions and not let our emotions master us. As a life coach, I hope to empower you to understand the concept of self-awareness.
The Cycle of Self-Awareness:
1. THOUGHTS - We can’t control the thoughts that pop in our head, but we can control which thoughts to focus on and which to dismiss. Although it’s good to focus on positive thoughts, we can’t simply ignore the negative ones. When we have negative thoughts, are these facts or merely opinions? Let’s tackle the negative facts and dismiss the negative opinions.
2. FEELINGS - What we feel, influences our actions. We need to be mindful and aware of the feelings that arise from our thoughts. Are we feeling positive or negative from our thoughts? When negative feelings emerge, let’s ask ourselves why and determine the root cause.
3. ACTIONS - We can either choose to REACT, an emotional action (“immature”) or RESPOND, a rational action (“mature”). When we are aware of the feelings which stem from our thoughts and the root causes of them, we have full control to respond rationally.
4. OUTCOMES - Our outcomes are a direct result of our actions. If we react emotionally, this will lead to a viscous cycle of negative thoughts, negative feelings and negative outcomes. As such, we must respond rationally and take control of our outcomes.
This process will take time and patience. So let’s be gentle and loving with ourselves! Next time we have a negative thought in our head which we cannot merely dismiss, let’s take a few moments to be mindful of how we are feeling. Should we react emotionally and let our emotions take the better part of us or respond rationally and take control of our emotions? When we choose to respond rationally, notice how it changes our outcomes !
Yours truly,
The Maisie Lining ❤️

It's been nearly 14 years since Allen Iverson delivered his famous "Practice" rant as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers. On Friday night, the Answer was back in the same room where he delivered that epic presser -- but this time, there was a lot more love.
The Sixers hosted a press conference before their game against the New York Knicks to celebrate Iverson's recent election to the Basketball Hall of Fame, and the former Philly point guard diplayed the full range of the human experience. He got emotional when talking about his friends, family and supporters:
Then he joked with reporters who asked him questions obviously aimed at getting Iverson to invoke his most famous answer:
There was even a bit of trolling from the 2016 Hall of Fame inductee, who wasn't about to have an NBA P.R. person tell him how many questions he could take:
The whole presser was a pretty cool event, although some fans apparently saw it as a conspiracy aimed to take away from the franchise's recent parting of ways with general manager Sam Hinkie:
Where ever might they get that idea, though?
Ah, right. Oops.
It's a pretty big stretch to think Iverson's presence was a smokescreen. His Hall of Fame induction was just announced this week, and he's been a busy man lately. But we'll give Sixers fans the benefit of the doubt; those who trusted the Process under Hinkie are in pain right now, and they're not thinking rationally.
The coincidence, though, is kind of striking.
