Olive Cafe位於荃灣市中心不起眼的一個角落,不過日常生活匆忙,平常都經過始終沒有入內的打算,最近終於下定決心,一於去食個晚餐!
The restaurant is located at an unremarkable corner in Tsuen Wan.
店內似乎分成兩大區域,有可吸煙的户外區;內部則是典型酒吧的設計。
There are 2 zones in the restaurant. Smoking zone exterior & bar restaurant interior.
餐牌的選擇其實不少,除了常見的西餐外,還有石燒系列,一於就吃石燒, 既豐富又簡單!

The olive signature US beef steak was sizzling on a stone plate. I've ordered medium doneness but it tasted like medium-well thanks to the hot stone. The steak was in quality, meaty but not tough.
送到時渣渣聲,也有陣香,不過送來時比較熟,已經質五成熟。借助石頭的熱力,提升熟度,看來感覺更像鐵板,而且熱力較其他餐廳強。牛肉本身質素不錯,有肉味,但會不會老,考驗功力,愛吃嫩的建議立刻從鐵板上拿到碟上。

Kalau nak makan steak dekat restoran biasanya kita kena spend atas RM50 dan ada yang lebih dari tu. Takde ke cara lain untuk nikmati steak yang sedap pada harga yang MURAH? Jawapan dia ADA. Tapi masak sendiri lah.
Aku gabungkan beberapa ilmu memasak steak dari Gordon Ramsay dan Jamie Oliver, mereka gunakan bahan ini sahaja -
1. Steak (Sirloin/Striploin)
2. Olive Oil
3. Garlic
4. Thyme Leaves
5. Unsalted Butter
Aku spend untuk buat steak kali ni di bawah RM35 (Korang kira la cost untuk satu hidangan tu ya. Jangan tambah semua harga bahan mentah yang boleh diulang banyak kali tu).
Senang, mudah dan of course MURAH.

出街食塊無熟成嘅斧頭扒都可以去到成千蚊一件,今次我哋試下係Big Big Channel買一塊返黎係屋企整一次未必比餐廳差嘅斧頭扒,程度非常似低溫慢煮嘅質感,用焗爐仔就搞掂,唔駛慢煮棒:)
另外會用到reverse sear 嘅方式去令到件事更加完美,想知點解?睇片啦。
呢個做法可以形容係任何厚切嘅牛扒,例如肉眼, 西冷, 肋排等等.
建議慢焗時的肉中心溫度:

It can be very expensive to have a piece of Tomahawk Steak out there in the restaurant, this time I've bought this baby from TVB big big channel in HK, and trying to make it to a beautiful top grade texture and doneness. Just with an oven and make it very similiar to a sous vide product. So everyone can do it at home with a low oven :)
Moreover, I've used reverse sear technique to enhance a better Maillard reaction, fancy to know the story? Watch it!
The same technique can be applied to any thick cuts of steaks, such as Rib eyes, Sirloins, and Prime/Standing Ribs.
