Designer’s note
After the successful release of "the Time
Machine" last year, Memorigin asked me to design a barrel shaped
tourbillon watch for this year.
I always
like barrel shaped watches, since barrel shape has a bigger area to play with, and
it does have infinite possibility to create a barrel shape of your own. I spent
very long time on design and sculpt a unique barrel, a barrel that I think has
the perfect proportion, all the right details; a barrel shaped watch that is so
different from the other brands’, a barrel belongs to Memorigin and myself.
I used many curves to create a very 3 dimensional barrel shape watch casing.
The two main curves on the sides to illustrate the barrel shape of course, but
also the shape of the casing is curved along the shape of the wearer's wrist,
and the 3 levels of the side panels on the two sides beautifully illustrating a
3 dimensional sculpted barrel.
The protruding square studs finishing on the main surface of the watch provides
a very tough image for the watch but at the same time displaying a diamond like
sophistication.
Another very special feature of this watch is the twin circle watch face
displaying the main watch dial and the tourbillon covered by a single
"8" shape sapphire. The watch dial features floating main Markings
having the minute hand runs underneath it. Multi styled engraving on the watch dial
added complexity and craftsmanship to the whole design. The individual power
reserve display tells the owners if they need to wind by the concentration of
the color and the “F” mark will appear when the power is full.
I especially designed a very special links watch band which is also with the protruding
squared studs finishing that goes perfectly with the watch. But if you are in a
subtle mood, you can easily change into a set of crocodile skin watch band in
seconds, I want to express a special thanks to our watch band easy changing
system.
The last but not the least, my signature hexagon rubber/metal crown stating
Mark Lui and Memorigin had spent enormous efforts, craftsmanship and love in
making such a beautiful time piece for you.

去年推出「時間裝置」陀飛輪腕表獲得空前成功，萬希泉今年邀請我設計一枚酒桶形腕表。
我很喜歡酒桶形表款，因酒桶形設計有更大創作空間，給予你無限可能性創造自己獨有的酒桶形腕表。我花了很長時間設計和塑造一個獨特、與別不同、比例完美、細緻，並屬於萬希泉與我的酒桶形表款。
在表殼上，我運用了很多曲線去塑造出立體的酒桶形表款，兩條主要曲線除勾畫出酒桶形狀，亦體貼着戴表者手腕的弧度；另外兩邊的三段不同層次的曲線優雅地描繪出立體的酒桶外形。
在表面上凸出的立體方格予人一個強韌感覺，同時呈現出鑽石般的精細感。此表另一特點是兩個由表盤以及陀飛輪組成的雙圓形，被「8」字形藍寶石玻璃覆蓋。
表盤上的時間刻度經過特別設計，懸浮在表面上，分針會在時間刻度下經過，帶出極強層次感，此外表面上多個不同風格的雕刻手工為此表整個設計上增加複雜感及工藝感。獨立能量顯示以顏色提示表主定期為手表上鏈，當手表有足夠能量時，能量顯示會呈現出「F」標示。
我亦特別為此表設計了一款特製的鋼帶，加入了與表面相同的立體方格紋理。如你當日想作低調打扮，你亦能於數秒間方便地將手表轉換成鱷魚皮帶，在此我特別感謝我們這個簡易更換表帶設計。
最後，我的標誌－八角形金屬橡膠表冠，標示着雷頌德，以及萬希泉一起付出的重大努力、工藝以及愛，為你造就出這枚優美的時計。
