ย้อนกลับไปเมื่อปี ค.ศ. 1845
คุณ David Sprüngli เชฟขนมหวานชาวสวิตเซอร์แลนด์
ได้ก่อตั้งธุรกิจร้านขายขนมช็อกโกแลต เจ้าแรกของประเทศสวิตเซอร์แลนด์ขึ้น

ต่อมาในปี 1899 บริษัทของครอบครัว Sprüngli ซึ่งขณะนั้นบริหารโดยรุ่นลูก
ได้เข้าซื้อกิจการโรงงานช็อกโกแลตของคุณ “Rodolphe Lindt” ด้วยเงิน 1.5 ล้านโกลด์ฟรังก์ ซึ่งคิดเป็นมูลค่าเงินในปัจจุบัน ประมาณ 100 ล้านฟรังก์สวิส หรือ 3,400 ล้านบาท

ซึ่งคุณ Lindt นั้นถือเป็นบุคคลสำคัญ ที่ปฏิวัติอุตสาหกรรมช็อกโกแลตโลก ก็ว่าได้

เพราะในสมัยก่อน ผลิตภัณฑ์ขนมช็อกโกแลตยังมีลักษณะเป็นแท่งแข็งๆ และรสชาติค่อนข้างขม ทำให้ไม่ค่อยได้รับความนิยมจากผู้บริโภคมากนัก

ด้วยเหตุนี้ คุณ Lindt จึงพยายามคิดค้นเครื่องทำช็อกโกแลต และทดลองหาสูตรส่วนผสม เพื่อให้ได้ช็อกโกแลตที่กินง่าย และอร่อยถูกปาก

หลังจากที่ล้มเหลวอยู่หลายครั้ง ในวันหนึ่ง เขาบังเอิญเปิดเครื่องทำช็อกโกแลตทิ้งเอาไว้
แต่กลับมาพบว่า การนวดส่วนผสมเป็นเวลานานๆ จะทำให้ช็อกโกแลตมีเนื้อเนียนละเอียด พอกินแล้วสามารถละลายได้ในปาก แถมยังมีกลิ่นหอมของโกโก้ และรสหวานกลมกล่อมอีกด้วย

เมื่อบริษัท Sprüngli เห็นถึงศักยภาพของช็อกโกแลต Lindt จึงตัดสินใจขอซื้อกิจการทันที
และเปลี่ยนชื่อเป็น Lindt & Sprüngli เพื่อใช้ความแข็งแกร่งของแบรนด์ “Lindt” ทำตลาดต่อไป

หลังจากนั้น ยอดขายช็อกโกแลต Lindt ก็เติบโตอย่างรวดเร็ว
โดยเฉพาะช่วงหลังสงครามโลกครั้งที่ 2 ที่บริษัทเริ่มส่งออกสินค้าไปทำตลาดต่างประเทศมากขึ้น

โดยบริษัทได้มีการพัฒนาขนมช็อกโกแลต ในรูปแบบแพ็กเกจต่างๆ และรสชาติที่หลากหลาย โดยมีผลิตภัณฑ์ที่หลายคนคุ้นเคยกัน เช่น Lindt Lindor ช็อกโกแลตแบบเม็ดกลม และ Lindt Excellence ช็อกโกแลตแบบแท่ง

นอกจากนั้น Lindt & Sprüngli ยังได้เข้าซื้อกิจการช็อกโกแลตและขนมหวาน แบรนด์อื่นๆ ด้วย เช่น Caffarel, Ghirardelli และ Whitman

ปี 2017 รายได้ 139,000 ล้านบาท กำไร 15,000 ล้านบาท
ปี 2018 รายได้ 147,000 ล้านบาท กำไร 16,000 ล้านบาท
ปี 2019 รายได้ 153,000 ล้านบาท กำไร 17,000 ล้านบาท

โดยในยอดขายทุกๆ 100 บาท มาจาก
- อเมริกาเหนือ 36 บาท
- เยอรมนี 18 บาท
- ฝรั่งเศส 10 บาท
- อังกฤษ 7 บาท
- สวิตเซอร์แลนด์ 4 บาท
- ประเทศอื่นๆ 25 บาท

แต่อย่างไรก็ตาม ในปี 2020 บริษัทก็ต้องเจอความท้าทายแบบไม่คาดคิดมาก่อน
นั่นคือ เหตุการณ์ระบาดของโควิด 19 ที่ทำให้ทุกตลาดซบเซาพร้อมๆ กัน

ใน 6 เดือนแรกของปี 2020 บริษัทมียอดขายอยู่ที่ 52,000 ล้านบาท ลดลงราว 12% เมื่อเทียบกับช่วงเดียวกันของปีก่อนหน้า

โดยยอดขายหน้าร้านในแทบทุกพื้นที่ปรับตัวลดลงเนื่องจากหลายประเทศมีมาตรการปิดเมือง ประกอบกับภาคการท่องเที่ยวที่หยุดชะงัก ซึ่งปกติแล้ว ช็อกโกแลต Lindt มักเป็นหนึ่งในของฝากที่นักท่องเที่ยวซื้อติดมือกลับบ้านเวลาไปเที่ยว

และในปี 2021 พวกเขาอาจต้องเผชิญกับปัญหาดังกล่าวต่อไปอีก
บริษัทจึงพยายามปรับตัว และหันมามุ่งเน้นการขายผ่านช่องทางออนไลน์มากขึ้นแทน

【世界盃】說好的「體育歸體育，政治歸政治」？
　
昨晚第二循環E組塞爾維亞與瑞士賽事，不只是兩隊爭奪小組第二排名，背後隱含了更深刻的角力。
　
瑞士先發陣容中幾位大將：效力義甲 Udinese Calcio 1896 的中場 Valon Behrami、英超 Arsenal 的中場 Granit Xhaka 與英冠 Stoke City Football Club 的中場 Xherdan Shaqiri，全部都是科索沃人。
　
1990年代東歐的南斯拉夫解體後，科索沃地區還是在承襲南斯拉夫主體的塞爾維亞控制下，境內多是回教徒為主的阿爾巴尼亞族，與早已在1912年獨立的阿爾巴尼亞接壤。由於塞爾維亞對科索沃境內的阿爾巴尼亞人的種族歧視與屠殺，激發了科索沃解放軍出現，軍事衝突後來引發北約組織介入。
　
科索沃成為自治區，其後在2008年由總理提議，召集議會投票通過獨立。科索沃獨立後，屢次向歐足聯遞交入會申請，卻總是因為塞爾維亞從中作梗而失敗，直到2016年五月才受到歐足聯（UEFA）與國際足總（FIFA）承認。
　
Behrami 與 Shaqiri 的父母都是科索沃阿爾巴尼亞人，在他們小時候就舉家移民到瑞士避難。而阿爾巴尼亞裔的 Xhaka 出生前，父親因為參與抗議南斯拉夫統治科索沃，成為政治犯，入獄3年半，之後與太太搬到瑞士。
　
科索沃終於成為歐足聯會員國後，有意徵召這幾位已在瑞士國家隊效力的球員。一般狀況下，球員一旦為某國成年國家隊正式比賽出賽，就不被允許轉籍代表第二國，但是新加入的會員國不在此限。
　
歐足聯也承諾科索沃會個案處理，只是，幾個球員轉籍的申請都被拒絕了，因為他們都曾代表瑞士，參加歐足聯頂級賽事（歐洲國家盃）。
　
一個月前，Shaqiri 在自己 Instagram 上傳了一張照片，引發塞爾維亞球迷群起湧入抗議。照片裡是 Shaqiri 的世界盃球鞋，右腳繡了科索沃國旗，左腳則繡了瑞士國旗。對他和 Behrami、Xhaka 來說，世界盃小組賽抽到與塞爾維亞同組，牽扯國仇家恨，是場必贏不可的「戰爭」。
　
被塞爾維亞率先進球的瑞士，繼續積極搶攻。下半場開踢不久， Xhaka 招牌的遠射世界波，率先為瑞士扳平比數。此時他出現了耐人尋味的慶祝動作：雙手比出老鷹展翅。
　
進入傷停加時，Shaqiri 單刀直闖塞爾維亞門前起腳，2比1絕殺塞爾維亞！激動到脫衣慶祝之前，他也比出了跟 Xhaka 一樣的老鷹展翅。原來，這是阿爾巴尼亞國旗上的「雙頭雄鷹」，代表著兩人與科索沃、阿爾巴尼亞的深刻連結。
　
賽後推特上的球迷們瘋狂吵成一團，「科索沃」成為即時熱門關鍵字。阿爾巴尼亞人與科索沃人欣喜若狂，而許多塞爾維亞球迷大罵「分離主義者該死」、「根本是恐怖份子」，主張「科索沃自古以來是塞爾維亞不可分割的一部分」。

Xhaka 賽後受訪表示：「今天對我來說是非常特別的一天，這個勝利獻給我的家人、獻給瑞士、獻給阿爾巴尼亞、獻給科索沃。慶祝的（老鷹）手勢，是比給一直以來支持我的人們看的，不是直接挑釁對手。這真的是一場情緒高漲的比賽。」
　
瑞士成為本屆至今唯一能在落後時成功反超，並且奪下勝利的球隊。沒能踢進世界盃的阿爾巴尼亞，最近街上四處可見懸掛著瑞士國旗，力挺隨瑞士國家隊征戰俄羅斯的三名科索沃阿爾巴尼亞之子。
　
四年一度的世界盃，有如套上文明規範的國際戰爭。且不論娛樂與經（ㄉㄨˇ）濟（ㄆㄢˊ）功能，各國之間的角力，就是戰爭的縮影。只要是公眾事務，從來就無法與政治切割，所以，當然也沒有什麼「體育歸體育、政治歸政治」。
