I finally finished writing the last issue (72) of my Patreon Bible Study series called “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob”.
In the words of one of the patrons, “I am blessed and encouraged reading this series. It's my favourite, I must say!”
In the series, which is essentially a study of the Book of Genesis starting from Genesis chapter 12, we looked at how our patriarchs of faith, Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, were exemplary men in some ways, but inconsistent in their obedience.
The true source of their blessedness and success is God who remains faithful to them. He alone keeps the covenant that He established with them.
With a beautiful cast of other characters in the chapters, we see how a perfect God is gracious and merciful to imperfect humans, and how He restores and protects those who have faith in Him.
The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is your God too. The Bible says that we are blessed together with faithful Abraham, and that God had blessed Abraham in ALL things.
If you want to have this testimony of being blessed in all things, you must learn why it happened for Abraham, and about the God who did it for him.
Abraham was wealthy, there is no record he was ever sick, he lived a long life, he experienced youth renewal, he had a beautiful spouse, he was protected from harm, was blessed with many children, he experienced near-impossible victories, and more. If you want to be blessed like him, study his life and the covenant God made with him and his descendants.
Join as a “God Every Morning” tier or above patron to receive all 72 issues of “The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob” in a downloadable eBook format.
I will be starting a new Patreon Bible Study series next week too called “God’s Appointed Time”. It’s sure to be good because the Holy Spirit has given many messages already. As a patron, you’ll receive that too.

The God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob Issue #1: The Beginning
“Now this is the history of the generations of Terah. Terah became the father of Abram, Nahor, and Haran. Haran became the father of Lot. Haran died before his father Terah in the land of his birth, in Ur of the Chaldees. Abram and Nahor married wives. The name of Abram’s wife was Sarai, and the name of Nahor’s wife was Milcah, the daughter of Haran who was also the father of Iscah. Sarai was barren. She had no child. Terah took Abram his son, Lot the son of Haran, his son’s son, and Sarai his daughter-in-law, his son Abram’s wife. They went from Ur of the Chaldees, to go into the land of Canaan. They came to Haran and lived there. The days of Terah were two hundred five years. Terah died in Haran.” (Genesis 11:27-32 WEB)
We are first introduced to Abraham when he was still Abram.
Abram means “high father”.
His wife was a half-sister, and her name was Sarai which means “my princess”.
Sarai was barren with no child.
Think about this humble beginning of our patriarch of faith—a high father with no child.
We are also introduced to Abram’s nephew, Lot, who will follow Abram later in the story.
Lot’s name means “veil” or “covering”.
Later on in the story, we will see how this veil had to be removed from Abram, so that he could clearly see his God-given destiny.
There was nothing special that set Abram apart from others, no distinguishable traits that we are told of.
The only thing important was his name. God was looking for a father of faith to bring forth a great multitude—a holy nation of royal priests.
God was going to use this area of weakness—the barrenness, to become a great testimony of His power.
A barren couple would bring forth multitudes more numerous than the stars of the sky and the sand on the seashore.
We see from the beginning that the election of Abraham to be our father of faith was by Grace.
When God chose him, in the natural, Abraham was undeserving to be a father of multitudes since his wife was barren and he didn’t have a child.
God could have chosen anyone else who was more qualified in the natural, but He sovereignly chose Abraham.
God loves to display His strength through man’s weakness.
Whatever weakness you have in the natural that you begin with, shall be the area that ends up being the greatest testimony of God’s strength in your life!
When Abram moved from Ur to Haran, he followed his father Terah.
Terah’s name means “wanderer” or “delay”.
While Abram was following his father, before being called by the Lord Yahweh, he was on a wandering path that delayed him—he was not progressing.
Later we will see Abram on a crossroads, having to decide between continuing on the wandering path, or follow God and fulfill his destiny.
