這次我邀請 Mr. Yes 來分享他以小企業主的身份，談如何從總體擁有成本的角度，來評估資料長期的儲存方式。
關於資料的長期儲存、或是歸檔，企業首先要想到的「資料價值」。資料價值可以是直接轉換成營收的增加，例如因為幫客戶做長期資料保存的這個附加價值，因而報價可以較競爭者高；或是資料具不可重製性；或是可重製但時間成本更高；或是留存資料以供未來大數據分析使用。簡單來說，就是一定要找到其必須保存的價值，才能評估花費的成本是否合理？
此外，資料的量也要夠大，才會出現成本上的效益。如果只有 10TB 的資料，不論使用 HDD 或 SDD 都不會出現太大的成本差異。就像 Mr. Yes 分享的，如果不是異於一般中小企業 800TB 的資料量，也沒必要花這麼大的力氣去搞什麼磁帶櫃。
