UBC SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA
Led by Jonathan Girard, the director of orchestras at the University of British Columbia School of Music, UBC Symphony Orchestra educates and promotes gifted young musicians. To enhance interconnections for the students and to celebrate the UBC community, UBCSO will invite current students and alumni as performers. On November 23, UBC Symphony Orchestra welcomes faculty members as soloists in Finzi’s Eclogue for Piano and Strings, Op. 10 with Terence Dawson, piano; Britten’s Serenade for Tenor, Horn, and Strings, Op. 31 with J. Patrick Raftery, voice and Valerie Whitney, horn. Also on the program is Elgar’s Variations on an Original Theme, Op. 36 “Enigma”.
If you are a UBC student, you are eligible to get Free rush tickets. Come in person and bring your student ID at the Chan Centre Ticket Office two hours before the performance.
