豈有此理！神父放催淚彈
【夏主教哭了、我們也哭了】

聖母聖衣堂 特別彌撒
講道全文：「彌撒前一小時，我和幾十位青年傾談、聆聽他們。他們都是今天都幾小時或全日在金鐘的。我好難過 ，不應該如此結果的。我聽到青年的態度，都是理性、和平、克制。或許你會說他們天真，他們以為人多聚集，就會起作用，推遲逃犯（引渡）條例的議程。
但不知什麽原因，不知是誰的命令，他們的經驗告訴我，青年受到的，是被暴力對待。我完全想不到為什麼會這樣，青年完全不應該要面對這一切。我從沒有想像到，香港社會為何會走到今日？
我在香港出生、成長。這兒有我家人，有我所愛的家人！我們想自由地生活下去，想生命能受保障，希望擁有人該有的自由，不用生活在恐懼中。難道這樣很過份？難道這是我們不配擁有的嗎？不是的！不對！不應該如此！因此，幾天前，我們當中很多人走出來，用我們的腳、遊行、用我們的汗水去表達。但好像沒有用......
今天，很多人罷課或罷工，幾萬人圍著立法會，但又被驅趕了，好像又起不了作用。教會呼籲我們祈禱、參與彌撒，又有什麼用呢？
但我剛才聽到青年分享時，我聽到了，我見到很美善的人性表現。在如此不公平的對待下，仍是閃耀著人性的光輝，青年們彼此幫忙、互相扶持：「多少人來，就多少人走！」這就是彼此相愛，這就是耶穌的教導。這就是我們祈禱時，祈求上主俯允我們、改造我們，從靈性從心底改造我們
...... 所得到的成果。
第一篇讀經，聖保祿說：「文字叫人死，神卻叫人活。」就是這份靈性了。但可惜今日香港社會，說要在文字上做功夫，說要定下不知什麼法例，不知說到幾美好的法例，但好像沒有什麼人明白的法例。
耶穌告訴我們，真正的法律，是成全，是使人成全！真正的法律使人懂得為其他人著想，懂得愛別人，甚至會犧牲自己。
剛才，我和林祖明神父從堅道教區中心步行到這裡，因為我們怕會交通擠塞，所以也不駕車了。但感謝上主讓我走了這段路！我見到有很多青年，我心裡很難受...... 為何會這樣的？但我在這份難受中，卻很欣賞他們。
我欣賞他們這份純潔，對社會的愛護。他們做不了什麼，他們還可以做什麼呢？他們只能夠站在街上叫幾句(口號)，以表達他們的意願，希望當權者聽到，只是如此而已。
有何過份之有呢？為何不可以呢？
我沿路行過來，我的心在流淚。
但同時，我感謝上主！感謝天主，讓我們香港社會，能擁有這麽美好的青年。我見到上主祂的肖像，銘刻在這些年青人靈魂的深處，他們走出來，其實非為了自己。
各位兄弟姐妹，我不知道我們還可以做什麼，路可以怎樣走下去。但今日耶穌告訴我們：成全！真正的成全在我們，我們怎樣看待我們的生活和生命。我們尋求公義，就用公義的方法！
我們為了香港社會，就為香港社會上每一個人，懂得彼此相愛、彼此尊重，互相一起，了我們這地方，為我們這片土地，能做一丁點就做一丁點。即使即一篇經文、一個祈禱、一個反省、一句說話、一個WhatsApp訊息....
各位兄弟姐妹，人的能力有限，就讓我們信賴天主、投奔向祂。」- 夏志誠輔理主教

彌撒前一小時
An hour before the Mass
我和幾十位青年
I met a group of young people
他們今天在金鐘
They had stayed in Admiralty today
幾小時或全日在那裡
For a few hours or the whole day
我和青年傾談
I spoke with them
聆聽他們的經歷
Listened to their stories
我好難過
I was upset
不應該如此的
It shouldn’t be this way
我聽到他們是理性、和平、克制
I learnt that they are reasonable, peaceful and self-controlled
或許你會說他們天真
You may say that they are naive
以為人多在那兒就會起作用
That they think a people's gathering has the power
推遲逃犯條例的議程
To postpone the agenda to amend the Extradition Bill
但不知什麽原因
That they act without knowing why
不知是誰的命令
Without knowing who gave the order
他們的經驗告訴我
Their experience tells me
他們得到的是被暴力對待
that they were treated with violence
完全想不到為什麼
Without knowing why
完全不應面對這些
They shouldn’t have had to face that
從沒有想過
They could not imagine
香港社會為何會走到今日
How Hong Kong became what it is today
我在此出生、在此成長
I was born and grew up here
這兒有我家人
My family is here
這兒有我所愛的家人
All my loved ones are here
我們想自由地生活下去
We want to live freely
我們想生命能受保障
We want life to be protected
我們希望擁有人該有的自由
We hope to enjoy the basic freedoms that people are entitled to
不用生活在恐懼中
We don't want to live in fear
難道這樣很過份
Is that too much to ask?
難道這是我們不配擁有
Do we not deserve this?
不是 不對 不應該如此
No! That’s wrong! It shouldn't be that way
所以幾日前我們當中很多人走出來
That is why so many of us came out to demonstrate a few days ago
用我們的腳
With our steps
用我們的遊行
With our march
用我們的汗水去表達
Using our sweat to express ourselves
但好像沒有用
But it seemed to be useless
今日好多人罷課或罷工
Today many people went on strike
幾萬人圍著立法會
Thousands of people surrounded the Legislative Council
但被驅趕 好像又是沒有作用
But were driven away
It also seemed useless
教會叫我們祈禱、參與彌撒
The Church asked us to pray and attend Mass
又有什麼用呢
But what is this use of doing these?
不過剛才的年輕人分享
However, through the sharing of the young people earlier
我聽到 我見到
I heard and I saw
很美的人性表現
The beauty of humanity
在如此不公道對待下
Even in an unjust situation
仍是有人性的光輝
Humanity shines through
彼此幫忙、互相扶持
Through Helping each other, mutual support
多少人來就多少人走
Many people came, and just as many people walked together
這就是彼此相愛
This is loving one another
這就是耶穌教導
This is what Jesus teaches
這就是我們祈禱時
When we pray
上主俯允我們
God answers us
改造我們
Changes us
從靈性從心底改造我們
Transforms us in spirit, from the bottom of our heart
所得到的成果
This is the fruit of prayer
第一篇讀經裡
In the first reading
聖保祿說文字叫人死
St. Paul tells us that the letter brings death
神卻叫人活
but the Spirit gives life
是這份靈性
It is this spirit that we need
但可惜今日香港社會
Unfortunately the society Hong Kong today
要在文字上做功夫
Works on letters
要定不知什麼法例
Needs to implement such and such law
不知說到幾好的法例
A law said to be good
但好像沒有什麼人明白的法例
But a law that no one seems to understand
耶穌告訴我們真正的法例
Jesus tells us the real law
真正的法律是成全
Real law is to complete
是使人成全
To complete people
使人懂得為其他人著想
To make us think of others
使人懂得愛別人
To teach us how to love others
甚至會犧牲自己
To even sacrifice yourself
剛才我和林神父在教區中心步行到這裡
Fr. Lam and I walked here from the Diocesan Centre
因為我們怕會交通擠塞 所以也不駕車
We were worried about traffic so we didn’t drive
但感謝上主讓我走了這段路
But I thank God for letting me walk this way
我見到有很多年青人
I saw many young people
很多年青人
So many young people
我自己內心很難受
I felt uncomfortable
為何會這樣
Why is it so?
但當我在這份難受裡
But in my discomfort
我很欣賞他們
I admired them
欣賞他們這份純潔
I admired their purity
他們對社會的愛護
Their love and care for society
他們做不了什麼
They can’t do anything
他們可以做什麼
What can they do?
他們只能站在路上叫幾句(口號)
They can only stand on the road and chant a few words (slogans)
表達他們的意願
To express their wishes
希望當權者聽到
And hope that those in power will hear
只是如此而已
That’s all they can do
有何過份呢
Is that too much?
為何不可以
Why can’t they do that?
我沿路行過來
On my way here
我的心在流淚
My heart was crying
但同時我感謝上主
But at the same time, I thank the Lord
感謝天主
Thank God
讓我們香港社會
For giving our society of Hong Kong
能擁有這麽美好的青年
Such good youth
我見到上主祂的肖像
I saw the face of the Lord
銘刻在這些年青人靈魂的深處
Seared on the soul of these young people
他們走出來非為自己
They came out not for their themselves
各位兄弟姐妹
Dear brothers and sisters
我不知道我們還可以做什麼
I don't know what else we can do.
路可以怎樣走下去
What the next steps are
但今日耶穌告訴我們
Today, Jesus tells us
成全
To fulfill
真正的成全在我們
Real fulfillment is in us
我們怎樣看待我們的生活和生命
In how we treat life and our lives
我們尋求公義就用公義的方法
We use just ways to seek justice
我們為了香港社會
If we are for the society of Hong Kong
就為香港社會上每一個人
Then we are for every single person within the society of Hong Kong
懂得彼此相愛 彼此尊重
Know how to love and respect one another
互相一起為了我們這地方
Work together for this place
為我們這片土地
For our land
能做一丁點 就做一丁點
Whatever you can do, do it
即使一篇經文
Even with a piece of scripture
一個祈禱 一個反省 一句說話
