Ngày còn là chàng sinh viên năm nhất ĐH Bách Khoa, tôi từng nhận nhiều học bổng của các tổ chức, cá nhân dành cho sinh viên nghèo học giỏi. Trong đó có một học bổng tôi luôn nhớ mãi, Học Bổng Đồng hành "1-1" của Hội Khuyến Học Thành Phố trao tặng. "1-1" có nghĩa là một ân nhân sẽ tài trợ học bổng cho 1 sinh viên cho đến khi sinh viên tốt nghiệp ra trường. Ân nhân của tôi là một người Nhật - ông Takeo Tanei - làm cho một công ty dầu khí Việt Nhật tại TPHCM. Ông từng mong ước khi tôi thành tài, sẽ cố gắng lan tỏa điều tốt đẹp ấy đến thế hệ sau,
Khi trưởng thành, tôi đã tham gia rất nhiều hoạt động thiện nguyện và hỗ trợ giúp đỡ bà con, trong đó tôi cũng trao những suất học bổng cho những sinh viên nghèo có hoàn cảnh khó khăn để tiếp sức cho các bạn đến trường.
Lần này là một câu chuyện xúc động khác mà tôi được gieo duyên từ MC Quynh Hoa và ekip trong chương trình Thành phố 18h - một câu chuyện Covid mà tôi sẽ nhớ mãi. Tôi luôn tâm niệm sẽ làm một điều gì đó thật ý nghĩa, và tôi muốn bù đắp cho những tổn thương mà em đang phải trải qua.
Quá khứ là điều không thể thay đổi, hiện tại còn đầy khó khăn, nhưng tôi tin tương lai em sẽ tươi sáng, và chính em sẽ là người viết nên những trang mới cho cuộc đời mình.

When I was a freshman at HCM university of Technology, I received many scholarships from many organizations and individuals for poor students to study well. Among them is a scholarship I still remember forever, the "1-1" Companion Scholarship awarded by the City Study Promotion Association. "1-1" means that a benefactor will sponsor a scholarship for 1 student until the student graduates from school. My benefactor is a Japanese - Mr. Takeo Tanei - working for a Vietnam-Japan oil and gas company in Ho Chi Minh City. He once wished that when I became successful, I would try to spread that good thing to the next generation,
As an adult, I have participated in many volunteering and supporting activities, in which I also gave scholarships to poor students with difficult circumstances to help them go to school.
This time is another touching story that I was blessed with from MC Quynh Hoa and the crew in the program "City 18h" - a touching Covid story that I will remember forever. I always think that I will do something meaningful, and I want to make up for the hurt he is going through (he lost his family during the Covid 19).
The past is something that cannot be changed, the present is still full of difficulties, but I believe that your future will be bright, and you will be the one to write new pages for your life.

商界一直是 #平機會 的緊密合作夥伴。在此特別感謝 #種族多元共融僱主約章 的簽署機構,支持推動種族多元工作間。簽署機構皆同意《約章》羅列的九項目標:
1. 基於《種族歧視條例》的原則和《種族歧視條例僱傭實務守則》,制訂種族平等和多元共融的機構政策。
2. 訂立一套公平程序及準則,在招聘、僱用、晉升、員工發展及解僱的過程中不會對任何種族人士造成歧視。
3. 定期審視政策和流程,確保僱傭環境對所有種族人士公平而無障礙。
4. 培訓、教育和鼓勵員工,加強他們對種族共融的意識,包括認識有助建立多元共融的良好常規政策,以及種族歧視所帶來的不良後果。
5. 提供機會,讓處於弱勢的少數族裔社群認識和投身所屬界別(如實習機會、在職培訓、師友計劃和志願服務)。
6. 營造安全的工作環境,讓所有員工充分協作。
7. 了解及回應不同族裔員工在溝通、政策和活動上的具體需要,讓他們可融入和參與機構之中。
8. 設立申訴程序,處理員工提出任何涉及歧視、騷擾或不公平對待的投訴。
9. 確保所有申訴均得到迅速和有效的處理,並加以保密。
平機會期望更多企業會簽署《約章》,與我們一起將種族多元共融的價值帶到每個辦公室。
The business sector has always been the close partner of the Equal Opportunities Commission (“#EOC”). My appreciation goes to the employers which shows their serious support to the promotion of racial diversity in the workplace by signing The Racial Diversity & Inclusion Charter For Employers. These employers all concur with the nine goals set forth in the Charter as follows:
1. Implement racial equality and diversity policies for the organisation based on the principles of the Race Discrimination Ordinance (RDO) and the Code of Practice on Employment under the RDO.
2. Establish fair recruitment, appointment, promotion, staff development and dismissal processes and criteria that do not discriminate against any person or groups of persons on the ground of race.
3. Review the employment processes and policies regularly to ensure relevance, fairness and absence of barriers for people of all races.
4. Raise awareness of the policies and principles of racial inclusion and the consequences of racial discrimination among staff through training courses, awareness campaigns, sharing of good practices, events and award schemes.
5. Proactively encourage engagement with racial minorities from underprivileged and under-represented communities through recruitment as well as internship opportunities, on-the-job training, mentorship schemes and staff volunteering activities.
6. Provide a safe and collaborative work environment for all employees.
7. Make employees of all races feel involved and included by taking into account their particular needs, if any, in communication, policies and activities.
8. Have in place a formal grievance process for employees to report and receive redress for any discrimination, harassment or unfair treatment, whether to themselves or observed towards others.
9. Ensure grievances are dealt with swiftly, effectively and confidentially.
The EOC encourages more companies and organisations to sign the Charter and work closely with us by bringing the value of racial diversity and inclusion to every single workplace.

Pada pagi ini, saya telah merasmikan TUNKU MAHKOTA ISMAIL YOUTH CENTRE JOHOR BAHRU (TMIYCJB) dan SOUTHERN VOLUNTEERS di Hutan Bandar, Johor Bahru.
TMIYCJB merupakan realisasi sebahagian daripada visi saya untuk memperkasakan pembangunan golongan belia. Sebagai pusat pembangunan belia perdana di negeri Johor, TMIYCJB dilengkapi dengan banyak kemudahan, antaranya tempat wall-climbing, skatepark, trek joging bertingkat, tapak parkour terbuka, amfiteater dan tempat beriadah untuk kanak-kanak. Ruang acara juga disediakan supaya program-program perkembangan diri dan aktiviti kumpulan boleh dianjurkan untuk manfaat golongan belia.
Matlamat TMIYCJB adalah untuk membuka ruang yang kondusif untuk membolehkan belia Johor mencungkil bakat untuk perkembangan diri mereka. Hasrat saya adalah TMIYCJB menjadi titik tumpuan dalam usaha memupuk semangat kekitaan masyarakat, selaras dengan konsep Bangsa Johor.
SOUTHERN VOLUNTEERS pula ditubuhkan bagi menggalakkan penyertaan para belia dalam aktiviti kemasyarakatan dan sukarelawan untuk memberi khidmat kepada rakyat dan negeri Johor. Peranan SOUTHERN VOLUNTEERS adalah untuk menjadi pemangkin pembentukan budaya kesukarelawanan dalam kalangan belia Johor. SOUTHERN VOLUNTEERS juga bakal menjadi gerakan besar-besaran di peringkat akar umbi serta bersedia menggalas apa jua misi kemanusiaan bagi membantu golongan yang memerlukan.
Saya berasa gembira kerana dapat juga bertemu dengan ikon-ikon belia sukan Johor. Sebagai seorang peminat sukan, saya amat bangga apabila melihat belia Johor berjaya dalam acara sukan. Semoga mereka terus mengharumkan nama Johor dan menjadi modal insan yang wajar dicontohi golongan belia.
TMIYCJB adalah YOUTH CENTRE yang pertama dan saya berancang untuk membuka satu YOUTH CENTRE di setiap daerah Johor. Saya berharap belia Johor akan menikmati dan mengguna pakai kemudahan yang telah disediakan di TMIYCJB dengan sepenuhnya.

I officiated the TUNKU MAHKOTA ISMAIL YOUTH CENTRE JOHOR BAHRU (TMIYCJB) and SOUTHERN VOLUNTEERS at Hutan Bandar, Johor Bahru today.
TMIYCJB is a realisation of part of my vision to strengthen youth development. As the first youth development centre in Johor, TMIYCJB is equipped with various facilities such as wall-climbing, skatepark, a multi-level jogging track, an open parkour area, an amphitheatre and a play area for children. Event spaces are also available so that personal development programmes and group activities can be held for the benefit of youths.
TMIYCJB's goal is to create a conducive space to enable the Johor youth to unearth their talents for personal development. My wish is that TMIYCJB will be the focal point in fostering a sense of togetherness in the community, in line with the Bangsa Johor concept.
SOUTHERN VOLUNTEERS meanwhile were founded to encourage youth participation in communal and volunteering activities to contribute to the Johor state and rakyat. The role of SOUTHERN VOLUNTEERS is to be the catalyst in creating a volunteering culture among the Johor youth. SOUTHERN VOLUNTEERS will soon be a big movement at the grassroots level and will be ready to undertake any humanitarian mission to help those in need.
I am delighted because I managed to meet several Johor youth icons. As an avid sports fan, I am very proud to see the Johor youth excel in sports. May they continue to make Johor proud and be role models for the youth community.
TMIYCJB is the first YOUTH CENTRE and I have planned to open a YOUTH CENTRE in every Johor district. I hope the Johor youth will enjoy and utilise all the facilities at TMIYCJB entirely.
