First time to Derawan Island 🏝 got me so excited. Thank you @kjri_kotakinabalu for the opportunity to travel to this wonderful place ❤️ with an awesome group. I had a blast 🤪😎

Here's how to get there.
- There are few options to get there. You either take a flight to Balikpapan or Tarakan then take a boat to Derawan. I flew from Kota Kinabalu to Tawau (40 mins) and take the connecting flight to Tarakan (40 mins) via @maswingsmates then take a boat from Tarakan to Derawan Island (almost 3 hours 😂) it's so convenient ✈️👍🏻 Trust me, the 3 hours was worth it (might arrive faster on a good weather) .

In Derawan, exploring the town is roughly an hour walk (includes photo taking etc). Mode of transportation around town is bicycle 🚲 or motorbike 🛵 but walking 🚶 is not bad too. The people are wonderful and welcoming 🤗

Plenty of souvenir shops and food stalls, also other accommodations. Don't worry about running out of cash, they have a bank there. Love how the houses 🏘 are nicely structured next to each other and there's a path to walk on 😍. Didn't have time to browse through the souvenir shops for fridge magnets 😭 but I get to try tons of good Indonesia snacks, thanks to Jack. The nachos huhu. I didn't see it in Tarakan though.

Don't worry about internet connection, I was connected my whole trip via TELKOMSEL and it's 4G, wow 🤭 did u see my updates on IG Story?

Ahhh missing this place already, hopefully can return again in the future and take my time to explore ❤️ maybe go diving.
