For this video, we went down to Wow Wow West at Bukit Merah to do a huge Western Food Platter Mukbang. I decided to do a Mukbang and not a speed challenge because my throat is still recovering from the Monster Curry Challenge. Western food served by Singaporean hawkers are generally English and Italian inspired dishes that have been adjusted for local tastes. Wow Wow West is no different, serving affordable but gigantic portions of Fish and Chips, Chicken Chops and Grilled Cheese Sausages among others. Each dish comes with sides of French Fries, Coleslaw and Baked Beans. Wow Wow West has been around for almost 20 years, with their massive portion size never changing.
For my Western Food Platter Mukbang, I brought my giant plate which was loaded with 2 servings of Fish and Chips, a Chicken Cutlet, a Chicken Chop, a Pork Chop, 2 Cheese Sausages and heaps of their sides. The Fish and Chips, breaded and not battered as is the norm here in Singapore, came with a distinctly pink tartar sauce that added a sweet and savoury dimension to the crispy whole fillets of fish. The chops were drowned in a brown sauce that was also sweet and savoury but in a meatier way and complemented the pure unadulterated flavours of the meats, which were grilled superbly. The Chicken Cutlet came as expected, well-seasoned and crunchy, while not dry on the inside. The Cheese Sausages naturally had cheese inside them and were made with natural casings. They were not overly salty nor did they taste like processed meat.
For the sides, the French Fries were crispy on the outside and tender on the inside while being well-seasoned. The coleslaw was unicolour and similarly one-dimensional in flavour, but rounded off the meal as a vegetable dish. The Baked Beans came from a can, so you would either like them or hate them.
It was an enjoyable Mukbang for me to do as it brought back a flood of childhood memories that most Singaporeans would be familiar with. The food was good for hawker fare while being both affordable and large in portions. However, they do not offer this Western Food Platter on their menu for those who would like to try this mukbang, but you can mix and match through their usual menu to replicate it.

コンビニで売ってるちょっとお高めのイタリアンプリン。ちょっと一切れ・・・なんてイヤだ!いっぱい食べたい!
ということで自分で作ることにしました。しかも牛乳パックでもできちゃうのだ!なんとオーブンじゃなくお鍋で!
作ってみましたよ。たっぷり食べられるシアワセ。あなたにもわけてあげたい。
*レシピ*(お好みの型 もしくは500mlの牛乳パック 1個分)
カラメルを作ります
1.小鍋に水 小さじ 1、グラニュー糖 40gを入れ中火にかける。
2.お好みのカラメル色の一歩手前で火を止め、熱湯 小さじ 1を加える。ハネるのでやけどに注意してください。
3.カラメルとプリン液をあわせて470mlほどが入る型(牛乳パック)に(2)を入れる。冷蔵庫で冷やしておく。
プリン液を作ります
4.鍋に砂糖 60g、牛乳 80g、生クリーム 155gを入れ火にかけ、砂糖が溶けたら火から下ろす。沸騰させない。
5.ボウルに室温に戻したクリームチーズ 80gを柔らかくする。
6.全卵 2個と卵黄 1個を溶く。
7.(5)に(6)を数回に分けて加えその都度混ぜる。
8.コーンスターチ 8gを入れ混ぜる。
9.(8)に冷めた(4)を加え混ぜる。
10.バニラオイル 数滴 加え混ぜる。
11.カラメルが固まった(3)に(10)を網でこしながら入れる。
12.アルミ箔などで蓋をし(牛乳パックはクリップなどで留める)、鍋で80℃ほどに沸かした湯の中に入れる。湯はたっぷりだけど型が浮き上がらない程度で。牛乳パックは8.5センチ浸っていました。
13.蓋をし弱火で湯の温度を80℃ほどに保ちながら25~30分加熱する。蓋を何度も開け締めすると鍋の中の温度が下がり、なかなか固まらずに失敗しました。
14.表面が固まっていたら火からおろし、粗熱を取る。
15.冷蔵庫でしっかりと冷やす。
16.でけた。うん、これはプリンじゃない、チーズケーキだね!

You can buy Italian crème caramel at the convenience store for a bit of a high price.
Perfect for when you want more than just one slice! It can even be made with a milk carton and in a pot and not the oven!
This is the joy of being able to eat a lot. We wish we could share it with you too.
*Recipe* (Your favorite shape or one 500 mL milk carton)
Make caramel
1. Pour 1 teaspoon of water and 40 g of granulated sugar in a small pot and put it over medium heat.
2. Turn off the heat just before it turns into the caramel color that you would like and add 1 teaspoon of hot water. Please be careful not to burn yourself, because it may splash.
3. Mix the caramel and liquid crème caramel and pour (2) into a mold (or milk carton) that fits about 470 mL. Cool it in the refrigerator.
Make the liquid crème caramel
4. Pour 60 g of sugar, 80 g of milk, and 155 g of cream in a pot and heat it. Remove it from heat when the sugar melts. Do not allow it to boil.
5. Soften 80 g of cream cheese at room temperature in a bowl.
6. Beat 2 eggs and 1 egg yolk.
7. Add (6) to (5) a little bit at a time and stir each time.
8. Add 8g of corn starch and stir.
9. Add (4) once it has cooled to (8) and stir.
10. Add several drops of vanilla oil and stir.
11. Add (3) once the caramel has hardened to (10) while straining it with a sieve.
12. Cover it with aluminum foil (use a clip to secure a milk carton) and place it inside hot water that has been boiled at about 80℃ in a pot. Make sure that there is plenty of hot water, but the mold does not float. The milk carton was submerged about 8.5 cm.
13. Heat it for 25-30 minutes with a cover on while keeping the temperature of the water around 80℃ with low heat. I messed up by opening and closing the cover many times because it lowered the temperature inside the pot, preventing hardening.
14. If the surface has hardened, remove it from heat and let it cool a bit.
15. Cool it thoroughly in the refrigerator.
16. Done. Yeah, this is not crème caramel, it's cheesecake!
