I rarely feature rooms because it’s really hard to get the hotel owners to agree with it, specially when visitors started to arrive in Boracay. Safety comes first.
Blessed enough, WaterColors Beach Café Bar has a different story to tell. This will be my home for a while, and I am able to check and review all the rooms they have available in this beautiful hotel, I call home.
Let’s start with the Penthouse.
Why I love it?
1. I get the view of the church (which to me is a blessing), which is located at the main road. I have not heard a single noise from the street at all.
2. The interior. I was not sure about the cream, white, and orange combination, at first when I saw the photos online. But when I arrived at the place, it was an instant gratification. It was calming. Like you live in a spa. That includes the toilet’s design!
3. The rooftop bar access. No brainer! I have the access to rooftop bar, where during the day, I work, edit my videos and at night, I party with friends. I just needed to order from the restaurant below, and yes drinks are allowed for guests in the hotel. Ordering food and drinks are so easy and modern, which brings me to point #4.
4. They have an iPad for each room which allows you to check their menu, and use iMessage to chat with the frontdesk to request or order any time! So fetch! 😅 Here’s the view of the restaurant: https://fb.watch/77kOGz9GYB/
5. The bed. For someone who has a back problem, bed is very important to me. In Singapore for 10 years, I have had to supply myself an ergonomic mattress. I had to or I would not be able to sleep well which would affect my mood the entire day. For 3 months in Boracay, with all honesty, for 3 nights I have been here, I finally slept like baby. It’s so comfortable! Not so hard, and not so soft. It’s finally a blessing to me to be able to sleep well.
Soon, I will be reviewing the beachfront and deluxe rooms. But for now, please give them some love by visiting their Facebook Page, inquire about their rates and more.
I personally would like to thank Ethel, Ely and the staff for this opportunity. I know my words aren’t enough to show how much I appreciate you.
XoXo,

ARINA Bar & Restaurant Food Review for Sinigang Tuna Belly sa Miso.
There are gonna be times when we all feel so down and there’s always this one food that will make our day a lot brighter.
To me, it is always the “sabaw” (soup) that gives me satisfaction after one meal. Sinigang Tuna Belly sa Miso never fails me. But for years, I had forgotten how it tasted like. So when I heard Arina Bar and Restaurant has it in their menu, I came back to the same place which gave me the best Buko Pandan in Boracay.
It is often said, that the love and passion of the person who cooked your food resonates to its taste. And a great management knows how to maintain its amazing taste without compromising its price.
The Sinigang I ordered was absolutely amazing! The moment I tasted it, reminded me on how it’s like to be “home”. The sour taste was there but not too much. It was savoury. The vegetables were all fresh and the Tuna Belly was cooked perfectly. Not too soft, not too hard to chew.
So if you are looking for great Filipino food in Boracay Island, Arina Bar and Restaurant is located at Unit 7 & 8, J. Motus Bldg. Hagdan, Yapak.
Also, don’t forget to grab a bottle of beer when you are done eating, it’s a perfect combination.

Dos Mestizos Boracay
I stumbled upon this fancy restaurant, Dos Mestizos which you can locate at the Main road, Station 1. Across Seawind Resort.
I was fascinated with how they seem to always get people to dine in and have drinks. On May 12, 2021, I visited the place and dined in and it was not a pleasant experience as I expected.
I am DJ Macky Suson, and I have been here in Boracay for two weeks. After living in Singapore for 10 years and suffered from mental health disorders, I chose Boracay as my place to recover. I have decided to review the places I go to, to help this beloved island improve on things it offers- food, a place to stay, drinks, activities, price and most importantly, the service.
I was greeted by the owner, if I am not mistaken with warm welcome which I expected as I always see him at the place talking to people. Dos Mestizo’s signature ‘Mestizo’ is traditional Spanish dishes elevated by complementing Filipino flavors and other carefully selected ingredients imported from Europe. The menu was not that comprehensive and all I could see was Paella. And so I thought, that’s probably what they are pushing and that’s their best selling food. I ordered a glass fresh pineapple juice, PAELLA VALENCIANA, small. The price was roughly 30 Singapore Dollars and I was expecting for it to be really good.
There was a complimentary bread that’s served and I actually loved it, specially the sauce. After finishing it, I thought, the paella could be better. It was not the case.
In Barcelona, they have a fast food for paella and most locals there said it’s bad. The truth is, my paella experience at that fast food in Barcelona was a lot way better than in Dos Meztisos.
PAELLA VALENCIANA looked great. I wish it tasted great but it was not the case. It was really dry to begin with. The rice seemed to be hit by El Niño as it was as dry as the season. The overall taste was okay. I mean for 30 Singapore Dollars, it’s unacceptable. The serving was good for 1 adult and one kid. The nightmare happened when I ate a portion of meat which tasted rotten. It seemed like it was placed in the fridge for months and they did not notice. It destroyed the entire experience. But at that time, I wanted to throw up but I could not because the owner was literally in front of me and so with other 3 guests.
This place is probably great for drinking but for food, I would not recommend for people to come here. I am happy I did not have food poisoning.
Next: I went to Ambassador in Paradise and tried their Night in Ambassador Cocktail. Was it great? Follow for the review.
