This is a movie that actuary is a main actor. Here is music video and you will be able to guess how enjoyable it is.
The theme is about an actuary who trust only the numbers and do not believe in true love come up with insurance product (1Pay2 - True Love Insurance). If couples break up within 2 years, then 50% return of premium. If couples can stay until end of year 2, then 130% of SA.
His assistant (i.e. ex-match maker) really against this idea. Executive Comm of insurance company also start to doubt if the statistics will be reliable. Then, give a chance to an actuary to prove his experience study to underpin his assumpion. This is a turning point of his career too. If this campaign is successful, he will be able to secondment to HK and his boss will get promoted from Chief Actuary to CFO.
Tan (an actuarial manager) and Jeed (his assistant) then will have to go on the field to collect the statistics (and also somehow intervene the couples). One side wants couples to break up but another side wants couple to stay together.
In the end, who will win? One side always use his head to make decision while another side always use her heart to decide. The character will develop and learn from each other along the journey. Head vs Heart. What is the right mixture of it? What is the decision from the board?
This movie really did a lot of research. And I have been helping a producer as consultant in this movie. I can't say that Tan (an actuary) is my own past as I mixed a lot of story into this character.
PS: The insurance company will have a software to analyze the couples about a chance to break up. Then, they will accept to issue the policy if the breaking up score is high. As it is my job to make this movie making sense in actuarial perspective, I support the material, script, and everything related to this movie. Wish it is enjoyable and everyone has a chance to see it.
