Look who came over to play today 😍 Zonia and I are big time snackers and we can already tell that our 3 kids are too. Jamie wouldn’t let go of the cookies! Her eyes followed them too!

These bite-size Chocolate Chip cookies are special, it’s the recipe of @everydaysauces’s 93 year old Grandma! Not our usual hollow kind of cookies, it’s thick like biscuits yet still extremely crunchy! (Not sure how they do it, it has such a great crunch like their chicken wings!) Our family finished 1 bottle in 3 days because you can’t stop, every cookie is filled with choco chips and nuts. @everydaysauces hardly do promos, but they are offering 10% off when you quote Zoe for these cookies. 😋

晚餐，雞柳薯條

雖然餐廳有開沒開對我們家差別不大，但是被餃子連日轟炸又看了朋友家炸雞照片猛流口水，我不愛輸的感覺，所以今天來個肯德基一日食。

早午餐做了比斯吉，英國肯德基其實沒賣這東西，但是我的美國人公公常作比斯吉、每次做也總想到三十年前外公很愛買比斯吉當午茶，都是長輩的愛、回憶的味道，鹹鹹酥酥、入口澀澀的，邊吃邊腦補家門口站一仙穿白西裝的爺爺 (窮鄉僻壤莫非是魔神仔...)

天氣晴朗炎熱，洗了床單、收了超市宅配又噴又擦，約好晚上吃炸雞。好開心啊，Tesco很給力，訂的貨都送來了，所以慷慨激昂多倒些油在鍋裏，炸起雞來有如神助、三兩下搞定，配上瓶身用洗碗精洗過的冰鎮西打酒，齁齁齁，自己做肯德基，這是 A 貨、特 A ，正牌肯德基可以邊吃邊喝酒嗎？

齁齁齁齁齁，喝得輕飄飄笑嘻嘻，今晚還有曬過太陽的乾凈床單被單陪睡，可以、很可以，齁齁齁齁齁 (酒後亂笑)。

CHICKEN POT PIE

Ingredients:
Filling:
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 onion, chopped
1 celery rib, thinly sliced
1/2 red bell pepper, seeded and diced
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
2 chicken cubes + 3 cups water
1 cup nonfat milk
1.3 kg boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces
1 cup frozen peas
2 carrots, diced
Salt and pepper

Topping:
2 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, cut into small pieces
2 tablespoons canola oil
1 cup plus 2 Tbsp. nonfat milk

Preparation:

1. Make filling: Warm oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add onion, celery and bell pepper and cook, stirring often, until softened, about 7 minutes. Add flour and stir for 1 minute. Pour in broth and bring to a boil, scraping browned bits from bottom of skillet, until mixture is thick and creamy.

2. Reduce heat to medium-low and stir in milk. Add chicken and cook, stirring, until firm and opaque, about 7 minutes. Stir in peas and carrots. Season with salt and pepper. Pour into a 2-quart baking dish.

3. Make topping: Preheat oven to 425°F. In a food processor, pulse flour, baking powder and salt. Add butter and pulse until mixture resembles coarse meal. With processor on, add oil and 1 cup milk. Process just until dough forms a ball. Turn out onto floured work surface; knead for 10 seconds. Roll dough to 1/2-inch thickness. Use a 2-inch cookie cutter to form 16 biscuits. Place biscuits on top of filling and brush with remaining milk.

4. Bake pot pie until filling is bubbling and biscuits are lightly browned on top, about 25 minutes. Serve hot.
