What I’ve learned from my architectural background :
There’s difference between CONSERVATION and PRESERVATION.
.
You preserve to maintain its current state but possibilities are there that it would deteriorate from the inside... leaving behind a hollow skin.
Ex. : ruin, specimen, pickles.
Conservation prolongs it’s life and integrity yet allowing proper interventions to blossom it into a living legacy.
Ex. : culture, arts, heritage.
Same theories to our current state.
