1. Giới thiệu trung thu bằng tiếng Anh:
The Mid-Autumn Festival is an important traditional holiday in my country. Mid-Autumn festival is celebrated not only in Vietnam but also in some other parts of Asia as well, such as China, Japan or Korea. And it is often celebrated on the 15th day of the 8th month of the lunar calendar with full moon at night.
In the past, on this day the moon was brightest and roundest which represented the family reunion or gatherings. Therefore, families and friends often came together or harvested crops for the festival.
Nowadays, Mid Autumn Festival is mainly for young children in Vietnam to enjoy the best time of the year. But not only can children celebrate this day but also adults can, adults who wish to have a chance to remind their their childhood and feel young again.
During this exciting Autumn festival, making masks and lanterns is probably one of many activities that take place. A lot of groups of young Vietnamese have created unique and trendy lanterns yet can still preserve the traditional beauty.
So this reminds me back to the time when I was a little kid and living in the countryside where I could contemplate the most oriental feature of this festival, which is the dragon dancing.
Our little alley was teeming with different teams of dragon dancers. Dragon dancers dance to every household in their village, it is like “treat or trick” in western culture, they will not stop until you give them some lucky money.
And when speaking of Mid-Autumn, we can’t help but to mention the Moon cake. The round shape of the moon cake signifies completeness and reunion of families. Making and sharing mooncake is probably one of the hallmark traditions of this festival. But nowadays, in modern time, making mooncakes has given way to the more popular custom of giving mooncakes to family members.
So I have just introduced to you guys one of the most important and fascinating festival in Vietnam and it is Mid-Autumn festival.

On Sunday, I booked a tour at the Borneo’s Tree of Life Exhibition with the family, after reading a news article about @chienleephotography and his works. I’ve never met this talented man behind the beautiful imagery displayed at this public exhibition, but from the ground-breaking pictures and fascinating story behind each powerful portrait, it gave me insights to his dedication and passion as a biologist and educator.
His in-depth knowledge about Borneo’s rainforest and the high diversity of life surrounding it was captured with such skills and precision. My children, who were initially dragging their feet when I told them where we were going, were wide-eyed to GMBB’s Curator, Ying Xian’s explanation of his art.
Ying Xian continued to unravel stories behind each photograph as we all listened intently. The experience in this darkroom was further sensorily enhanced with sounds of the real rainforest (captured by Chien Lee) and the subtle scent which @myolfac3 had created in her interpretation of Borneo.
It was hard to pin one favourite picture out of the 30 shown at this gallery. But I chose this particular one to post up first.
Although large iconic wildlife often capture the most attention, the bulk of a rainforest's diversity lies in the smaller invertebrates, with thousands of new species being discovered every year. This tarantula with electric blue legs (Birupes simoroxigorum) was first found in 2017 in Western Borneo and only formally named in January 2019. Unfortunately many rare and beautiful species such as this become easy targets for the exotic pet trade, which had decimated many wild populations. Sniff.
Go and immerse yourself into one of the thickest rainforests in Malaysia at the Borneo’s Tree of Life Exhibition happening now till 30th June 2021. It’s FREE and you can book a tour via bit.ly/BorneoExhibitionTour. Follow @gmbb.kl for more updates on their numerous activities and events.

Hi loves!
December is always one of my favourite months of the year because so much is happening for us-- it's a month full of festive feasting, catching up with friends, carolling and presents! ❤
This month is also quite momentous because we moved into our first home, spent a good amount of time prepping it up and dressing it for all the parties that followed and hosted a countless number of parties for our family and friends.
I'm not sure if every December is going to be different but one thing that stays kinda constant is the carolling gigs we have and church activities with my choir- the place where James and I met and grew up in.
