{IG Giveaway} Who says learning Chinese can't be fun? This boy is learning many new Chinese characters this year now that he is in Kindergarten 1. He tends to have a short attention span so I've realised it is more effective when we make learning fun, interesting and colourful.
Thanks to these Write Play Love books from @hhgz19, he was kept entertained this afternoon as he learnt to recognise new words while practising the sequence of strokes in characters like 口,手,马,羊 and more.
What is fun about the books is that they make use of multi-coloured stickers for the child to practise the strokes. Every Chinese character has its strokes clearly numbered with different coloured circles, so all you have to do is find the corresponding coloured dots and stick them one by one till you are done.
We made sure that he used his finger to trace the word after that and read out the strokes and the word too (see more in stories). There is also a QR code at the bottom of every page which leads to a video on the Chinese character to show you how it is written.
We love both Vol. 1, which is on human anatomy, and Vol. 2, which is on farm animals. Asher particularly enjoyed joining the dots to draw the animals in the second book and there were some new words for him like 虎,龟 and 狗. He said "This is so fun!" and wanted to keep doing but I reckoned we should split it up into a few sessions of fun learning for him instead.
I intend to use this method to let him learn to write his Chinese name which he is still trying to master for now. Yup, let's all make learning fun for our kids!
The books can now be purchased on Lazada at https://bit.ly/32KB0Tg.
