Ayasaに沢山の楽曲を提供してくれている6人組のユニットnowiseeが自分達の活動を再開しました。6年前に映像といち早く音楽をシンクロさせる活動を始めて、早すぎた音楽性の進化にやっと時代が追いついた感じです。

#nowisee(ノイズ)とはStrange Octave(Vocal)、Minimum Root(Guitar)、Add Fat(Guitar)、Turtle 7th(Piano)、Chotto Unison(Bass)、残酷 tone(Artwork)からなる永遠に正体を明かさない6人組ユニット。音楽を中心に映像、ノベル、コミックが一体となったクロスコンテンツ『nowisee』を制作している。2015年8月8日8時8分8秒、インターネットに最初の作品を公開し拡散が始まり、同年10月8日にスマートフォンアプリを1つの作品集と定めた世界で初めての「アプリアルバム」をApp StoreとGoogle Playで配信開始。2年間24作連続リリースを経て充電期間に入る。2021年5月、nowisee初のフェス参戦をきっかけに、6月8日に「not the end」リリースを発表。

肥頭對於雷頓狗而言,是一個在台北滿重要的地方,在那裡玩音樂和認識許許多多的音樂人,所以經常有事無事就在那裡鬼混。 於2018年七月時的某一個下午與C3LL和hung-li 在肥頭一起寫這一首動感的歌。
Around July 2018, we created this song in Fat Tone, our favorite place in Taipei city. Layton used to hang out there a lot with his old bandmates and friends, so he became friends with C3LL and hung- li, amazing musicians in Taiwan. One afternoon, C3LL and I were hanging around for nothing. I pulled up my laptop and started making some drum loops, so we started jamming with C3LL's new synthesizer, Minimoog and Juno 60. Then hung- li came by and started playing bass line. Everything started after that. C3LL started hitting chords with Juno and Layton jamming some guitar licks. For Layton, it was an amazing experience to collaborate with these talents and smooth flow during the creation.

MAXON OD-9 算是我目前試過的Boost中最對我胃口的~
雜訊小~高頻夠咬~中頻夠衝~低頻夠寬~
這顆也是當初花了我將近半年的時間A/B Test找到的~
廢話不多說~
上午花了點時間做死馬跟毆滴酒的測試~
單獨Overdrive使用:
毆滴酒:
嚴格上來說就是複刻老TS-9~
(因為後來的TS-9的TONE走調太多~
太令人失望......................................)
所以Low Gain OD的表現當然很好~
假如用的琴對~
做Blues或是Fusion那種肥痛最適~

死馬:
以痛性來說~
他算是比較Modern的Low Gain OD~
死馬的Gain也比毆滴酒至少多了3刻度~
所以相對的Range也寬了許多~
但是對我而言高頻有點偏多~
中頻有點扁~
低頻偏緊~
但是其實就單獨使用來說~
這兩顆除了年代痛性不太一樣~
其實基底蠻像的~重點是............
Quality都是他X的有夠好!!!!!!!!!!
Boost使用:
毆滴酒:
因為Gain值偏少~所以推起來雜訊不大~
高頻夠咬~
算是中規中矩乾淨的高頻~
中頻夠衝~
也是清晰度與動態很漂亮的中頻~
低頻夠寬~
但是做快扣會比較黏~
死馬:
死馬的特徵Gain值偏多~
所以相對的雜音也會增加~
在做Boost的時候要注意Gain鈕的調校~
高頻較多~
咬度會比毆滴酒來的更咬~
但是高頻的控制就要看琴本身的Tone性與個人喜好去做定~
中頻較扁~
以Boost來說算是優點~
中頻過多的OD推出來通常都會偏糊~
低頻較緊~
低頻較不會延展太多~
所以做快扣或是斷扣多的很適合~
數值比
GAIN比:
死馬>毆滴酒
TONE比:
高頻:
死馬>毆滴酒
中頻:
毆滴酒>死馬
兩顆的中頻分頻落點不太一樣~
個人比較喜歡毆滴酒的中頻
低頻:
毆滴酒>死馬
以上的數值比只是單純對值的大小做比較~
跟Tone的差異與好壞無關~
結語:
假如我預算夠的話我會再把死馬買起來放~
雖然兩顆的基底都是Tube Screamer~
但是兩顆獨特的聲音都是高品質~
Tone性時代也不同~

Maxon's OD-9 is my favorite boost pedal up to date
low noise, biting treble, punchy mids and ranged bass
This took me about half a year's A/B testing to find
enough bullshit
I spent the morning making comparisons between the Dead Horse and the OD-9
AS OVERDRIVE:
OD-9:
Strictly speaking it's a reissued old TS-9
(the newer TS-9s are way too different tonally and quite disappointing...)
It performs really well as low gain OD
if used with a matching guitar,
it could do the blues or fusion type of fat tone really well
Dead Horse:
Tonally speaking
this is a more modern low gain OD
the gain on the Dead Horse seems to be 3 clicks higher than the OD-9
therefore the range is also slightly wider
however to me the treble is a bit overwhelming
the mid is a little thin
and the bass is quite tight
as used on their own
aside from that fact that one's more vintage and one's more modern
but deep down they have similar characteristics, and the key point is...
they both have fucking good quality!
AS BOOST:
OD-9:
Due to the OD-9 is quite low gain, therefore the noise level is low too
Treble bites
clear and yet not too much
punchy mids
with good clarity and and dynamics
bass response is wide
however when fast riffing/chording it may not cut through enough
Dead Horse:
Dead Horse has more gain than the OD-9
therefore it also has more noise
need to be aware of the adjustment on the gain knob
the Dead Horse has more treble
it bites tighter than the OD-9
but the control depends on the guitar itself and the tonal preference
thinner mids
it may be an advantage as a boost
as it might get muddy if the boost has quite a bit of mids
tigher bass
the low frequencies won't sustain over too much
which is good for fast riffing or syncopated riffs
VALUE COMPARISON:
Gain:
Dead Horse > OD-9
Tone:
Treble:
Dead Horse > OD-9
Mid:
OD-9 > Dead Horse
The mid frequencies for these two are different, I personally like the OD-9 better
Bass:
OD-9 > Dead Horse
The above comparison are strictly based on value, and has nothing to do with tonal qualities
Conlusion:
If I have enough budget I would also buy a Dead Horse on top of my OD-9
Even though both are fundamentally based on the Tube Screamer
but both offer high quality tones from different tonal eras
