Christmas, to us, is a time to get together with our loved ones, to show them that we care, to let them know how much we cherish and appreciate them, to remind ourselves to be thankful for all the wonderful things in our lives.
Our Christmas tree has been lovingly put up by the kids and myself, and I love how it is uniquely decorated with many of our artwork, including a paper plate wreath, felt stocking and handprint reindeer. We already have dozens of presents waiting to be given to the kids, our friends' kids, our parents, our closest family members and more. Yup, isn't it such an awesome feeling to give rather than to receive? That explains why we are hosting so many gatherings this month too.
Anyway, something happened which really amazed and touched me. I was very surprised to see how these two girls have taken the initiative this year to do up presents for each other and their baby brother! Yup, all on their own, not using a single cent but they took out items from their treasure chests, did handmade cards and doodles, wrapped them up with spare wrapping paper, wrote personalised love notes and then proceeded to put them under the tree to wait for the big day. They even did the presents secretly so that the other parties would not know what was inside. Awww. Swipe to the last pic to see.
It's moments like this that melt my heart and let me know just how much I can learn from these pure, innocent souls who see so much good in the world. Thanks for reminding me the power of true love, my dears. We will definitely have a Merry, Merry Christmas!
