To empower gender diversity in photography, Leica Camera USA is seeking 3 photographers to receive $10,000 USD and a year-long loan of a Leica Q2 to support a personal project expressed through the female perspective. Submissions can be taken with any camera make/model except for smartphones.
Applicants will be reviewed on the basis of:
- Quality of photography
- Dedication to the medium of photography
- Sophistication of project with narratives that broaden perspectives, ideas, and conversations on today's social and/or political climate
Applications will be judged by a renowned panel of industry voices including:
- Karin Kaufmann
- Maggie Steber
- Elizabeth Avedon
- Laura Roumanos
- Deborah Willis
Submissions accepted now until August 29, 2019. Recipients of the award will be announced on October 16, 2019 on https://bit.ly/LeicaWomen.
