Some people have been asking me if it is actually possible to change your running technique, especially if you have been running the same way for decades. My answer to that is, yes you can improve your running style but I will be honest, it will take time and effort. After Daniel Dittmar (@dan_ditty) of Focus Pilates (@focuspilatessingapore) assessed my way of running, he then prescribed me a list of conditioning exercises to do in my own time.

These are not running drills, but exercises targeted at helping my muscle imbalances and weaknesses. Conditioning takes time, hence you have to be diligent in your homework, ie. do these exercises regularly. For example, Daniel gave me single leg bridging, clamshell pushup and dowel lunges (refer to pics), which mostly help in opening up my hip. One of my biggest problems is how tight my hips are, causing me to hinge when I run and thus not running upright enough.
