去年看NFL的人變少(新聞說是因為選舉因素),上禮拜因為Irma颶風的關係,NFL的收視率也不如預期,雖然我比較懷疑是大家對於看運動比賽的興趣轉移到其他活動上了。有調查顯示不在選舉時間的MLB季賽的收視也降了不少,但Amazon 9/28就要開始轉播每周四晚上的NFL的比賽,聯盟還是希望藉由其Prime Video service的廣大滲透率,提高觀眾對於比賽的興趣。
Amazon用了比去年twitter轉播多五倍的價格買了NFL的轉播權,越來越高的轉播價也會壓縮傳統有線電視的利潤,在付出成本越來越高,卻沒辦法轉嫁到消費者身上(提高訂閱價格),或是得到的廠商廣告收益也越來越少。過去TV Sports轉播權由CBS、ESPN、FOX等擁有,往後的優勢可能就會轉移到Amazon、FB跟Google手上了。

On April 12, Taiwan's CPBL (confusingly named, the “Chinese Professional Baseball League” 中華職棒大聯盟) became the first pro baseball league in the world to start its 2020 season. In this episode, we catch up with journalists Jacky Lee and Adam Wang on the innings and outs of the CPBL and on the history of Taiwan baseball.
Jacky is a contributor to Fox Sports Taiwan and Eleven Sports. Adam, for the past three years, worked in the U.S. writing about Taiwanese players in the American Major League Baseball.
