Makes Laotian cuisine in Bangkok more cool and badass than most hipster Thai joints vying to be associated with nostalgic sub culture. Effortlessly tasty, this is robust authenticity-based cuisine happens to also be terribly unique. There's a certain sophisticated flair and ambient vibrancy that goes into everything Funky Lam, from the tableware to the vinyl menus, the edgy service staff and the downright salacious dishes. A night at the Lam Kitchen, is best paired with a smorgasbord of bites, corruptible cocktails and friends who don't look at the time. ❤️

If there were ever an award (and no doubt there is somewhere in the world) for coolest or funkiest takeaway set , @funkylamkitchen are an afro above the rest. It arrives in a branded bamboo steamer, already with "ohhs" and "ahhs" from the @bangkokfoodies team, but the unveiling of the contents was truly the winning sight. Funky Lam's Bento Box Version II is filled with Kai Pen, Gai Ping (grilled chicken), Yam Khao Poon, jaews, egg, sticky rice and veggies – now if you're not familiar with their style of modern Laotian cuisine you should be pleasantly surprised, it's what you know of Thai but twist and turns of ingredients and tastes. This box is generous but not so much to feed two (unless it's a shared snack), at 300thb a box, be sure to keep that funk alive, and probably all to yourself. By the way, the bamboo box is the awesome repurpose container to place a gift inside or to keep in your fridge or coffee table to fill with other "groovy" goodies.
