Exactly a month ago on 18/11/2020, I carved my name, together with my sponsor TNB @tenaga_nasional and Malaysia Towerrunning Association @mastowerrunning into the Guinness World Records.
This morning, on 18/12/2020, I got invited by @speedster.coaching to witness the "Break The Record" Malaysia Track Cycling National Record Attempts For Individual Pursuit at National Velodrome.
I knew how it feel to be the contender attempting the record and although there were none of them breaking the National Record, but I knew that they will come back stronger on the next one.
I fall short of achieving a much greater height on my record breaking moment last month, and two weeks before that attempt, I clocked a 1.371km in an hour.
I was looking forward to achieve an even greater height on that night (a 1.5km at least) but things happened.
To be honest, I was so disappointed after that although I broke the previous record. But I realized that all the planning, hardwork done by me and Mr. Ravinder @ravin1618 (my mentor and Vice President of Malaysia Towerrunning Association) on organising the official attempt from the start till that night was already an achievement. Writing out the sponsorship proposal, sending to so many parties, got rejected and got accepted, meeting them up to a few rounds, sharing and presenting the idea, applying the permit from police station, getting all the paperwork, and training at the hotel staircase after all these.
There were so many obstacles along the way, and we glad we made it through.
Also not to forget to mention all the volunteers, family support, and sponsors like @tenaga_nasional @allianzmalaysia @kbsmalaysia potatoes US, @isnmalaysia @fskualalumpur @yakultmalaysia @bauerfeindsportsmalaysia @blackrollmalaysia covering the cost of this event!
And we would like to appreciate the supports from all media especially @bernamaofficial @thestaronline @rtm_malaysia @beritartm @kosmo_online @sinchewdaily on featuring our news about it!
Last but not least, kudos to the @speedster.coaching and his team on achieving at least their Personal Best!

glad training cost 在 Pandelela Rinong Facebook 的精選貼文
2014 started awesome until I suffered a bad left knee injury in the middle of the year. That injury cost me heavily as it would mean giving up on my 3m springboard event permanently and I face a further risk of skipping 3 other major competitions that year. I was advised to take time off for the rest of the year to recuperate. I was devastated by the news and felt like I have failed my team mate and my coach. This was a setback I could not afford. I had to get better fast no matter what and not let this injury weaken my spirit. I willed myself to get back on my feet after a week of bed rest. The training was tough and painful. I cried tears of frustration and feared that I will fail to regain my strength again. It was one step forward and two steps back but I kept pushing. Slowly, I felt stronger and was soon fit enough to compete again. I made it to the top 6 in the Diving World Cup competition in Shanghai and eventually secured 1 silver & 1 bronze medal at the Commonwealth Games and 1 bronze medal at the Asian Games. I couldn't be prouder of my achievements and was glad I didn’t give up despite my injury! So if you ever feel like failure is upon you, don’t give up! I hope Whisper's video (https://youtu.be/fp_DZbYtyLQ) will inspire you and give you the little push you needed to move forward!
