In Loving Memory of MUMARU SAMA 🤍

Every year, December 17th is an incredibly special day for our family, MUJI SAMA. Muji, our only beloved dog, is turning 5 today. He’s not a little puppy anymore. Our memories of him being a young, playful puppy have begun to fade away now as his personality has matured into adulthood, which also means we must pay attention to his health. As long as he’s still alive, we will continue to take great care and strive to optimise his health as much as we can.
It has been a year since Muji got his teeth cleaned. We noticed that plaque and tartar on his teeth starting to irritate his gums, so we took this day as an opportunity to get a check up on his teeth and general health. We then thought that bringing Mumaru - our cat, to the hospital to be neutered was also a logical thing to do. Only little we know, our special day, December 17th, for the past 5 years has turned into the saddest day for our family. Mumaru has just passed away today. He has left us forever. There is a hope in a mist of our sorrow that we will overcome the grief like we have done in the past with other family members. We didn’t expect him to leave us so soon. It is so unexpected as there was no sign that his health had deteriorated.
To those who followed us for some time, we hope you notice that when it comes to their wellbeing, we always choose the best options for our fur babies. Neutering male cats reduces the incidence of prostate cancer and also for Mumaru, it would deter him from mating with his own sibling, Mumi. Sadly, Mumaru had a server allergic reaction to the anaesthesia during the operation, which caused a sudden death. Being a short-nosed and flat-faced cat breed with an exotic short hair, increases the chance of respiratory complications associated with anaesthesia. The vet and his team tried their best to save his life, and they did the best they could.
There is nothing we can say to express how sad we are that he is gone. We just want to thank him for being such a great cat that always brought joy to anyone that encountered him. His agreeableness and high sense of being affectionate converted those who are scared of cats to become a cat lover. Mumaru liked to be picked up or held, even with any strangers, and this had never ever terrified him. You always had one facial expression in the countless photos that we took of you Mumaru. You never destroyed the belongings. There are many endless definitions of you, our dearest Mumaru.
There is an interesting fact that funny and cute cat’s videos can actually ease anxiety and depression. It was mentioned to us that Mumaru’s video clips have helped some people get through their days when they were down. This might not be the greatest invention in the world but small bits count. We wish that our tiny drop of positivity can reinforce that in this world, life is worth living. The same goes to those pet owners who understand the emotionally attached bonds we have to our pets.

Dear 05, thank you for 3 years. I never felt 'home' living alone, until I met you.
I lived in unit 05 for 3 years. A 350 square feet studio unit. I fell in love the moment I walked in because of how pleasant the vibe was. It's crazy to say this but this home has a SOUL in it, that matched mine.
I grew so much here. Mentally and emotionally. Everyday I wake up feeling like the happiest man on earth because my 05 gives me so much of peace and joy. I tell my mum, sister, best friend or whomever who has been here so much that my home 'hugs' me all the time. There have been times when I get so stressed, I burst into tears. Just a few moments later, I feel as if I am being comforted by 05, and I immediately fall asleep feeling calm. Have you ever felt this at home? My plants, books, furnitures, fragrances, everything feels SO alive. I never once felt lonely living on my own.
On top of that, I have one of the most understanding, caring and kind owners, Sophia Ngu. I told her the day I moved in that I would like to make the home mine in anyway I could and she gave me the liberty to do it. I changed a little of everything in the most minimalistic way and it felt like the best home ever. Sophia and I had such a beautiful owner-tenant relationship because of the trust we had in each other. I have never met her but hopefully someday, I will. It's a blessing to have an owner who supports you all the way. (we both were emotional about this).
I am writing this because 05 deserves a space on my platform. I am so attached to 05. But I needed a bigger space to expand on my production company. It's so hard to leave and say goodbye. (i had tears in my eyes while typing these words, that's how broken I am).
Unfortunately, the only thing constant in life is change and we have to always be ready to adapt.
I found a bigger space where I can expand on opportunities and offer therapeutic healing sessions for anyone who needs it. It's been a dream of a lifetime. It is a 100% bare unit and I have to work on it from scratch.

I would like to film a YouTube video, documenting the entire process of the Bohemian Balinese makeover as an offering of gratitude.
My last 30 days in this home will be extremely emotional but I guess that's just what happens when you love so deeply. It's hard to let go.
This is from my heart, to all of you.
I want you to know that whoever who said only the living has the ability to love you back, is not absolutely right. Because I felt love from every corner of 05.

Inseparable only begins to tell our story. How two parts of the same whole found each other against impossible odds. I still remember us saying like we were twins being separated and that so many different words that barely capture the essence of our bond.
It's the time to say goodbye, however. The hardest part about losing a love is having this new language and nobody to speak with it like you did. Thank you for part of my journey.
Next time be the one speaks my language so I don't have to spend a lifetime translating to my soul.

Although this song was released by Rimi Natsukawa, it was written by Kentaro Kobuchi (of Kobukuro) about his late mother. It is written from his mother's point of view, based on what he thought she would have said after she passed away. Rather than being morose, it has a very positive message that even after they are gone, our loved ones might still be looking out for us, and we can see them again if we just close our eyes and think of them.
