I’ve always been fascinated by Wayang Kulit or shadow puppet...
It’s equivalent to Instagram of the olden days.. messages and stories from near and far would be told and sent across to the masses using the shadow puppets.
The Tok Dalang or the Story Teller would be the said content creator and he would own down stories and scenes in his mind and presents it behind that piece of white sheet and projected by the light of a small oil lamp.
Seeing this traditional art form being played on the beach surrounded by coconut trees as the day turns dark was just surreal.. I am so fortunate and lucky to have experienced this as it’s not everyday you come across such heritage performance. Thanks to Mas from Terrapuri for organising this.

Flying Gasing of Terengganu is an old traditional game that is passed from generation to generation... this game is played by 2 person. 1 player whine his whip around the gasing which he would then throws it to the targeted point and the other person is suppose to catch it on a single stick and let it continue spinning in the air...
it takes years of training to master this game. One needs high level of concentration and strength to play this art form.. I’m so happy that I got to document this heritage moment from my homeland and hopefully spread it as to showcase the unique cultural heritage from Malaysia.
