I told my girls that I will only allow them to have their own phones when they’re around 15-16 years old, to which they responded with drama and tears, “Whattt? Whyyy? But my friends have their own phones alreadyyy... blablablaa....” 🤦🏻♀️💆🏻♀️
This kind of peer pressure makes it even tougher for me but I still stand firm on my decision. I do, however, let my kids borrow my old phones for them to use on weekends and school holidays. I’ve also recently installed @planoapp on each of these phones so that I can manage my kids’ device use easily. I love that I can schedule no device times, set locations where they can use their device, and block unwanted apps and browsers. There’s also face-to-screen detection on this app so kids can use their phones responsibly to prevent eye health problems like myopia. The fun part is that plano rewards your kids with points and they can collect the points to redeem cool stuff (check out my IG stories)!
