Hidden away from view, this fairly new private oasis is a new addition to the speakeasy bar scene in Penang. Found in a regular shop lot along Campbell Street, 91 Pawn 601does not have flashy signage but a traditional Chinese door, with some mysteriously designed décor next to it. But its not uncommon for visitors to stand there wondering how to enter the place; the trick is to swing the hidden door next to the ‘main’ door’ and you will find your way in. The drink menu is quite small… featuring some Beers, Wines, liquors and small choice of Cocktails. Seating is not too comfortable with strong background music and if you must know, they allow indoor smoking. The service was however, impeccably friendly; they were not skimp on the bar snacks too (we had quite a few refills).
