Problems of the Day: Was Christmas celebrated by the earliest Christians? It doesn't appear so. The more important holidays would be Good Fridays and Easter. IF (and only if) Christmas was later adaptation of Saturnalia, it is still not a problem because during that time, slaves were allowed to have their "holiday", making Christmas a very liberating holiday for the oppressed.
