Fresh new haircuts…oh well, it’s not really a cut, but more like a trim! Fatimah and Ali both had their last trim somewhere last year during the lockdown by their Lalajee @theomarmukhtar. Yes, they are both beyond blessed to have a big brother who is super talented and good at multitasking - bless him!

But this year, we’ve been extremely busy with the reno work at #TheOldForgeCottage 🏡 since the beginning of the year plus the extended lockdown, hence their hair has been left overgrown ever since. They both have been waiting since last year for their Dadijee (grandma) to come over to give them a haircut but since the pandemic they have been kept waiting and waiting and still no luck till now. 😢💔 But luckily someone came to the rescue to give them a haircut and heal their broken hearts - all thanks to @drauntie.uk for the trim!

May these little things that we do for our children stamp not only good memories for them but also add on love and affection. Hopefully one day they will look back and see how much love they had growing up in our home…

This is our little family tradition. Most of the time we will cut our children’s hair at home. Unless it’s a more complicated cut or to change the hairstyle only then will we go to the salon. Even my sisters and I, we still look forward to have our hair trimmed by our mother even until now. It’s always one of the things that I look forward to every year whenever my mother comes over to visit - to get her magic touch on my hair even if it’s just only a lil’ trim - priceless!! 🥰

And now I am even more blessed that I have not only my husband - Mr Dad - who always helped to cut my hair especially when I’m not well and unable to go out of the house…but now I also have my eldest son @theomarmukhtar who will happily give me a trim and also my sister @drauntie.uk who just gave me a trim yesterday. May Allah bless you all for taking care of me…

My dear little sister Fatimah,
You have grown just a year older, but oh, what a rollercoaster of a year that has been! This year has definitely been the toughest one yet for you, but it’s been a year that has seen you grow and mature tenfold!

We all know that whatever we as a family went through, you took the biggest blow out of us all. But despite that, you were the glue that held us all together, and the idol we looked to who showed such resilience, such strong-willingness that it seemed almost impossible that this tough soul was in this little girl’s body! And yet you never failed to amaze us, not only with your resilience, but your masses of achievements you managed to rack up at the same time as well. Only God knows the feeling of pride I felt when seeing you bring home all those stickers, awards, and certificates for your hard work!

This year and all the experiences, tests and challenges that it has brought along with it have done nothing but make you stronger. You have faced them with your head held high and you have shown us just what a brave little girl you are! As your big brother, I have never been prouder to see you grow, flourish, and blossom into the amazing kind-hearted little girl you are now!

But as much as we have seen you grow, I’ll still see that adorable face of yours, and I’ll still hear that lovely giggle of yours. In my eyes, you will still be that same little baby girl that I held in my arms all those years ago. Yes, another year has passed, and as you turn 7, I can’t tell you enough how proud I am of everything you’ve done this year. I pray that your 7th year of life is your most blessed year yet, filled with countless opportunities and chances for you to shine. I pray that you are rewarded abundantly for all your hard work, kindness and love, and I pray that The Almighty brings you many more blessings to come!

SINGING & DANCING WITH A LIL’ BIT OF FRENCH 💗 Ali requested to record a video for his school. It started out with him flaunting his French skills but he eventually got carried away, singing and dancing along with Fatimah. Even their Lalajee The Omar Mukhtar, who started out helping to stick the cards that Fatimah and Ali got from their friends on the wall, got drawn into the singing and dancing too - bless them! 🥰

Last Friday, Ali came home from school and he excitedly announced that he successfully published his first book! Yes, his very own book...just like his Lalajee. He named his book The Flower Book. But the best part of the book is the actual content, which is about recognising people who help us.

Obviously Ali drew only pictures in the book but the way he explained it in detail is beyond amazing for a 4-year-old. We were all fascinated by his ideas and above all, his confidence. He went on and on talking about his book and told us how his teachers applauded him and congratulated him on publishing his first book. You could see that proud look on his face. He just couldn’t stop smiling, jumping joyfully up and down.

But that’s not all...the even greater news is that Ali has now successfully sold his first book to his first customer for £3. Guess who his first customer is? Of course, none other than Dr Auntie - the most supportive auntie in the whole wide world! Now, this budding little author is already planning to publish his second book - bless him!
