2020東京奧運這樣就結束了
老實講昨晚的閉幕其實有點悶
期待3年後巴黎奧運會更精彩

Iphone突然在這個時候highlight了這張N年前的相給我
相中位置 Tokyo olympic Memorial Gallery
位於駒沢オリンピック公園 （Komazawa Olympic Park）

這裏主要有當年1964年的東京奧運相關物件展出
體驗不同的運動及世界紀錄
更可以好似我相一樣舉起當年的1.2kg奧運火炬
有趣得來更是免費

因為好久沒去啦
不知道2020奧運的相關物件之後會否展出呢？

🌻昨天跟朋友出遊. 我們有好幾個月沒見面了. 即使天氣不太好, 我們還是堅持原訂的計畫. 可見我們多想見到對方.

見面的時候, 我們都沒有戴口罩. 當我們擁抱的時候, 我鼻頭好酸好酸.

Anyway. 我想說的是, 請台灣的讀者撐著點. 這一切終將過去. 請盡量想&做讓自己快樂的事情.

🌻暫定台灣時間本周日(06/06)早上10點做年報導讀. 美國這邊的朋友也歡迎(美東時間周六晚上10點, 美西時間晚上7點). 會以Zoom進行(抱歉我不會露臉😅). 周四會將細節公布.

🌻Shopify(SHOP)財報
抽空看了一下SHOP的財報.

兩個印象較深的點是:
1. 高層稱他們為commerce operating system(電商的作業系統)(這其實高層提過好幾季了, 不過之前沒注意到. 之前高層用的字眼是retail operating system). 這讓我想到微軟也是做operating system.
2. 他們是把企業用戶(enterprise)等級的設施給中小型電商來使用: "the company’s platform offers security, scalability, and reliability that is normally only available to businesses with enterprise-level budgets (from一位分析師)"

兩個需要注意的地方是:

1. 今年還是會很積極地做投資&擴展, 這或許會對利潤造成壓力:
"........and plan to reinvest back into our business as aggressively as we can with a year-over-year growth in operating expenses accelerating each quarter throughout the rest of the year."

"As such, we expect full year 2021 adjusted operating income to be below the level we achieved in 2020."

2. 高層異動很大(可參考這篇新聞: https://ec.ltn.com.tw/article/breakingnews/3500525).
分析師已經連續兩季問高層公司文化方面的問題了. 公司在年報中也有說過, 高層的異動會是影響公司營運的風險之一. 不過實際上會如何還是需要持續觀察. 供參. (有附上年報中關於這點的截圖)

當世界各地因宵禁和封城引發抗議，疫情卻仍持續升溫時，
臺灣透過公開透明的資訊、民眾與政府的互信合作、
還有精實有經驗的醫療系統，在風雨飄搖的2020，
讓人民維持正常生活、讓經濟依然穩健成長。

During the COVID-19 pandemic, many wonder “How does Taiwan beat COVID-19 successfully ?”

Though many countries are striving to keep its people safe from the pandemic by implementing lockdowns, curfews and facility closures, voices of protest constantly appear.

In Taiwan, on the other hand, people work with the government harmonically during this difficult time. Taiwanese government conducts effective strategies concerning the pandemic and shares the information with the public. Furthermore, thanks to an advanced healthcare system, citizens enjoy prosperity and continue to live normal lives.

▞ 臺灣的民主化成就，並非一蹴可幾 ▚
﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋﹋
許多國家從專制邁向民主的過程，都曾歷經流血衝突
在74年前的今天，臺灣也同樣經歷一場血腥鎮壓。
　
在二次大戰結束後，日本戰敗
原本在日本人統治之下的臺灣
被中華民國接收，島民們一下子從
戰敗者變成戰勝者。
　
中華民國政府接收臺灣後，卻讓
官員貪腐、通貨膨脹、經濟倒退、歧視打壓等問題
越演越烈。衝突在2/28爆發。
　
這場運動造成大量傷亡，
卻沒有辦法阻止極權統治停下腳步。
1949年，政府甚至展開了長達38年的戒嚴，
許多台灣人在戒嚴期間遭受
不明原因的白色恐怖，從此人間蒸發。
　
直到1987年解嚴，
並歷經各種針對體制的衝撞與抗爭，
臺灣才漸漸轉型成為大家看到的民主多元國家。

- the Price of Democracy -
The harmonious relationship between the government and the people has lasted, but Rome wasn’t built in one day; Taiwan’s democratic achievement did not come easy. The shift from autocracy to democracy came with bloody fights.

With Japan’s defeat after World War II, the Republic of China government began exercising jurisdiction over Taiwan and reinforced the oppression to secure authorities on the island. Taiwan was plagued with official corruption, inflation, economic recession, and descrimination. The rampant dissatisfaction among civilians escalated and finally ignited the riot of “February 28th” (228) in 1947.

This violence resulted in tens of thousands of deaths. However, the tragedies didn’t end there. In 1949, the government went on to enforce martial law lasting for 38 years during which many people were accused as political dissidents and disappeared by the “White Terror”.

It wasn’t until 1987 that the martial law was lifted. Taiwan underwent various clashes and upheavals to establish a regime, which eventually shaped the vibrant and thriving democracy we have today.

在後來的時代裡，一直是台灣人共同承受的創傷記憶。

為的是提醒人們，反覆省思這個國家
在民主化道路上所經歷的一場災難。

It has direct meanings like “to wear, put on, tangle, roll up,” and it is often used figuratively.

I put on my body.

I can not see all of my body for a lifetime.

Tissues make up my body are kept being renewed, and they will vanish someday.

The body without contents will not remain, and where the contents without the body go?

Will they keep remaining?

Like Snakes and cicadas, most parts of their outer layer of the skin slough off at once and become new.

Although what is left is not a dead body, it still has a perfect shape of the animal and it has no life. Is it an evidence of its life? Is there an evidence of my life?



‘Matou’ also sounds like “willing to wait” in Japanese.

I’m waiting for my death.

‘Tsukimatou’ means “to haunt.”

It always haunt me and don’t go. My body haunt me until the day I die.

‘Soumatou’ revolving lantern

An expression describes an occurrence that many visions appear in one’s mind as shadow cast by a revolving lantern. It happens when people have a brush with death and past memories come and go randomly and quickly.

‘Mattou’ means “to complete.”

I completed my life.
