Ello Bello~
Previously I posted a youtube video about getting blond and also a few blond pictures on my instagram (www. instagram.com/tenshichn) and there was a mix reaction to it! I think it might be a shocking change but something people will love when they gradually learn to accept something different like this. <3
Anywayyyy, here's something less culture shocking! I hope. Haha.. My dreamy hair colour makeover! I love colours! Do you?
Thanks to Nickfer Foo for the hair makeover! The team at Five Senses are really friendly and amazing! Give them a visit soon! ☺️💕

So true. There's the fun and glamour-- and then there's a LOT of hard work that goes on behind the sea-nes.
Warning: RANT
Being a professional mermaid can be a fun job! But it's much more challenging that it looks!
There is a lot of stress, it's physically draining, and there is a lot of time spent working when not performing. You also have to have the right personality and knowledge in dealing with the public, with children, and with creeps. You have to be a good business person too! Think we make a lot of money? Not after we pay assistants, taxes, buy supplies, pay to fix our costumes, marketing, etc....One mermaid tail costs thousands of dollars. Yes, thousands. Sometimes they need repairs that costs hundreds. And don't forget, we also work when we are not performing, working with clients, doing contracts, costume maintenance, practicing, promoting, etc.... We try to keep prices low because we want you to be able to afford us, and we want to keep doing what we do, but we have also have to cover our time and costs, and then try to make a little something for ourselves!
We are smiling in our pictures, but we are not always as happy as we look. Some of the things I've endured as a mermaid are eye pain from chlorine, blurry vision, (sometimes for up to a few days after) irritated sinuses, ear infections, blistered feet, bloodshot eyes, poison ivy, double ear infections, sore calf muscles, sunburn, bruises, mosquito bites, tangled hair, scratches from sand in our tail, swollen feet, dehydrated, etc....sometimes many at once! Oh, and all that smiling for hours of photos makes our face hurt! I'm sore for days after an event. And we are usually very hungry and thirsty because we try not to eat or drink too much since we won't get to use a bathroom until we are done working, which can be many hours. Those tails are hot, and events that are not in a pool can be pretty uncomfortable, as we get really hot and sweaty inside the tail. (ewww) We also have to carry heavy equipment, one mermaid tail weighs over 20 pounds. Often we carry tails and supplies across a large areas, sometimes in the sand. It is not an easy task, even for our very muscular assistants!
Why am I writing this? .... Various reasons really. Just some things that have happened lately that I felt I needed to vent. This is a real job, I really work, and I work hard. My job is physically and mentally challenging. So when people say my job is soooo easy, I cringe!
That said, it is also wonderful in many ways, which is why I keep doing it!
What have you endured as a mermaid that most people are not aware of?
