Yay! We did it again!Deon took a week leave after Nanny left to help out at home. We took the opportunity to experiment going out bcos its less crowded on weekdays. I must say, we have hit many little milestones this week and i am so freaking proud of ourselves!Today, Layla was fussing and crying a lot right before we left the house, cos she was tired and wanted to nap instead of going out. Deon got affected by her crying and wanted to give up. But we went ahead anyway.It wasnt so much bcos we had to eat that bowl of ramen, or go to a mall, or bcoz we had already dressed up, or that i had already prepared a bottle of milk. Its bcos if we gave up this time, we will end up feeling scared to go out in the future bcos she cries. Its more forgiving when its just 2 of us. We also changed her diaper in a malls toilet for the first time today! Like what you all said, practise makes perfect. If we dont practise, we will never get better. 👩🔬 紫甘藍酸鹼指示實驗前天帶著林寶做了紫甘藍菜汁與酸鹼反應變色的實驗。之前就帶他做過一些簡單實驗，除了訓練小肌肉，其實看熱鬧的成分比較多。曾經在社團裡面讀到一位退休老師的看法，認為現在很多給孩子的實驗活動變得像是餘興節目，反而讓孩子輕忽科學實驗，失去科學啟蒙的教育意義。這次有意讓林寶多認識做實驗的方法，也試著讓他理解為什麼會有這樣的結果：＊從準備試劑和樣本開始，讓林寶全程動手參與：撕碎菜葉、看著我加入熱水；擠檸檬汁、倒醋、盛水溶解小蘇打粉...... ＊樣本用同樣大小的量杯（我們用感冒藥水附的小量杯），量取相同份量。每個樣本各用一個乾淨的量杯，避免汙染影響結果。＊每個樣本瓶子上貼好標籤，才記得裡面裝的是什麼。（「醋」貼錯方向了 🙃）＊準備檸檬汁、醋、洗手液和小蘇打溶液。檸檬汁和醋林寶可以理解都是「酸的」，最後結果兩個都變紅色，他就能連結到是因為它們的共性「酸性」而讓紫甘藍汁變色。＊加入洗手液沒有變色，表示接近中性，大一點的孩子可以一起檢視洗手液包裝上的標示（PH 值 7.0+-1.0）＊以前做過小蘇打加醋產生二氧化碳的酸鹼中和實驗，林寶大概知道小蘇打和醋性質不同，但應該還不懂什麼叫「鹼性」（三歲半而已放過他吧 😆）＊隔天早上看到桌上留下的幾瓶不同顏色樣本，請他解釋給爸爸聽，還記得變成紅色的是因為它們是酸的。成功！－－－－－－👇以前做過的小實驗：「泡沫實驗室」－當醋遇上小蘇打https://www.mamahowma.com/blog/vinegar-soda-bubble-experiment「彩虹環」實驗https://www.mamahowma.com/blog/rainbowcircle「牛奶跑跑跑」清潔劑抽象畫https://www.mamahowma.com/blog/milk-art

Yay! We did it again!

Today, Layla was fussing and crying a lot right before we left the house, cos she was tired and wanted to nap instead of going out. Deon got affected by her crying and wanted to give up. But we went ahead anyway.

It wasnt so much bcos we had to eat that bowl of ramen, or go to a mall, or bcoz we had already dressed up, or that i had already prepared a bottle of milk. It's bcos if we gave up this time, we will end up feeling scared to go out in the future bcos she cries. It's more forgiving when it's just 2 of us.

We also changed her diaper in a mall's toilet for the first time today! Like what you all said, practise makes perfect. If we don't practise, we will never get better. Thank you for being such an inspiration @minshanlai. Whenever i feel scared, i think of how you did all of those things by yourself! You make it look so easy! Really kudos to u 👏!

👩‍🔬 紫甘藍酸鹼指示實驗

前天帶著林寶做了紫甘藍菜汁與酸鹼反應變色的實驗。

之前就帶他做過一些簡單實驗，除了訓練小肌肉，其實看熱鬧的成分比較多。曾經在社團裡面讀到一位退休老師的看法，認為現在很多給孩子的實驗活動變得像是餘興節目，反而讓孩子輕忽科學實驗，失去科學啟蒙的教育意義。

這次有意讓林寶多認識做實驗的方法，也試著讓他理解為什麼會有這樣的結果：

＊從準備試劑和樣本開始，讓林寶全程動手參與：撕碎菜葉、看著我加入熱水；擠檸檬汁、倒醋、盛水溶解小蘇打粉......

＊樣本用同樣大小的量杯（我們用感冒藥水附的小量杯），量取相同份量。每個樣本各用一個乾淨的量杯，避免汙染影響結果。

＊每個樣本瓶子上貼好標籤，才記得裡面裝的是什麼。（「醋」貼錯方向了 🙃）

＊準備檸檬汁、醋、洗手液和小蘇打溶液。檸檬汁和醋林寶可以理解都是「酸的」，最後結果兩個都變紅色，他就能連結到是因為它們的共性「酸性」而讓紫甘藍汁變色。
