[Respon To 'Kakak-Kakak']
Some 'kakak-kakak in Islam said;
"The problem is that, we have 'cave thinking' ulamaks who interpreted the Quran according to their male chauvinistic minds. We are modern intellectual Malay women who read and understand the Quran from a liberated woman's point of view."
So we the true moderate Muslims say;
"You know there are thousands of women, reverts of western origins in the US and Europe, who are far more intelligent than some of our 'kakak-kakak' in Islam. They are professors, scientists, judges, journalists, professionals in all fields including far more liberated ex-superstars and ex-models and ex-playboy bunnies. Prof. Jackie Ying who visited Malaysia recently & Aliza Kim (former model and Miss Teen USA) for example.
Do you know how they came to Islam? They read the Quran, cover to cover in English or in their own language, French German whatever that maybe.
They see the Truth in Islam, they see the Beauty in the Message and they understood the commands and the prohibitions in the Quran.
Guess what was amongst the very first thing they did to identify themselves as Muslims? They put on the hijab, in spite of the glares and the whispers and even persecution by their communities. They stood firm in their belief of the command of Allah.
SO, if the far more modern, far more sophisticated, far more intelligent and far more liberated women of the West, using reasoning and rational thinking to decipher the Quran AND our 'cave thinking' Ulamaks using their thousands of hours of study of classical and authentic texts CAN come to the same conclusions on the hijab, Where do your opinions, oh 'kakak-kakak' in Islam, stand in the scheme of things.
I can only point to one spot. The rubbish bin!
The Truth has and will stand the test of time, from caveman to space woman.
These western reverts open the Quran to seek God and they are rightly guided. AlBaqarah 2:2.
You, 'kakak-kakak' in Islam who suppose to show a good example to new Muslims & not yet Muslims open the Quran to seek verses to fight men & so called 'cave thinking' ulamak, not to seek the pleasure of Allah. Hence for sure you have gone too far but again, Allah At-Tawab (The One Who Accept Repentance) & He is Most Forgiving Most Merciful if you were to repent and seek forgiveness from Him...
