The legendary Badang hero from last night's NDP was from Sayong Pinang (modern-day Johor) and he got his strength from swallowing the vomit of a hantu.
He later became a foreign talent in the Kingdom of Singapura and fought for Singapura.
So the lesson is, Singapore is the home of immigrants who drew strength from the vomit of demons. Wait, what?

My favourite highlight of NDP 2016 - the sparkly, awe-inspiring and absolutely spectacular unicorn that reminds us to follow the rainbow and chase our dreams.
This evening, the whole family (except for the baby) stood up to recite the pledge and sing the national anthem. With love and pride. It was a touching moment for me and once again, I feel thankful to be part of this wonderful nation and I am glad that my kids are going to grow up here.

With Singapore’s National Day approaching soon...We felt a need to pay tribute to iconic local dishes while commemorating this joyous occasion. So, what better way than to whip up an iconic local dish (with a slight twist) ?!
We’ve all heard of chili crabs and black pepper crabs. To represent the red and white colours on our flag, we experimented with the idea of a white pepper crab dish. The spiciness of white pepper combined with rich tasting butter and cream turned out totally awesome!
Best way to enjoy this dish? Tuck in with the whole family while watching National Day Parade on TV!
