Some little Tips gathered from me after 18 years of hosting...for any aspiring TV hosts out there.. hope this helps! :❤️🙋🎤
1.dont leave gaps longer than 2 seconds between an answer and your question/response.
2.dont look like your starving/bored/think you are Better than the guest/person being interviewed- ever.
3. Empathize with the guest and anyone you interact with and never belittle/patronize them.. If they freeze/become sarcastic- react with a personal question and a joke but never make them feel small.
4. Don't use big words and sound so knowledgable that your guests and viewers get bored and you look like you have a bland personality.talk like friends even with VVIPS as that is what viewers want to hear(unless you are on the NEWS.
5. Bring yourself to the guests level- meaning- adjust your tone, your emotions and try stay just one step ahead of them regarding the flow of questions so you remain engaged with them at that very moment BUT you gently lead them forward.
6. Be interesting and don't sound like you are reading a script. Be yourself and never ever fake an interaction.know when to stop asking and add elements of humor or emotion or better still- a personal anecdote when there has been tooooo much fact and point making.
