Amazon Prime delivery drones might be stopping at a lamp post near you
亞馬遜送貨機器人 就快要飛臨你家門
When Amazon announced it would soon deliver Prime packages via drones, it didn’t account for long distance travel.
美國亞馬遜公司（Amazon）日前宣布，將以無人機遞送Prime會員的包裹，但尚未說明，如何解決長途旅程的問題。
But the company has thought of a solution: docking stations in areas where dedicated facilities are far and few in between.
現在該公司提出了解決方案：在支應設施稀疏的區域，設置停泊站。
Amazon has submitted a patent for using tall structures like lamp posts as docking and recharging stations for its delivery drones.
亞馬遜公司申請了一項專利，以路燈之類的高建物，作為送貨無人機的停泊、充電站。
The patent is for a series of multi-use unmanned aerial vehicle docking stations, which would enable drones to recharge remotely in between deliveries.
這項專利包含一系列多功能無人飛行載具（UAV）的停泊站，讓無人機可以在送貨途中，遠距充電。
The company would also be able to provide navigational guidance to lost drones.
該公司還能藉此，為迷路的無人機導航。
Lost drones would send error signals to local antennas, which would respond by directing the drone to a nearby station.
無人機若迷失方向，就會送出錯誤訊號，到附近的天線。後者收到訊號，會指引無人機到最近的停泊站。
From there the drone would receive re-routing information to complete its delivery.
到了停泊站，無人機便可以重新接收路線訊息，而完成遞送任務。
The stations could also double as delivery hubs, where drones can drop off packages to be picked up by its receiving Amazon Prime user …or another drone for further delivery.
停泊站也可作為取貨點，無人機可在此放下包裹，讓亞馬遜Prime會員來取，或者也可讓另一架無人機來取貨。
Amazon wants to allow drones to perch atop existing tall structures, such as lamp posts, cell towers, power poles and buildings.
亞馬遜公司希望能讓無人機停泊在現有的高建物上，例如路燈、行動通信基地塔、電線桿、大樓等等。
The company is looking to develop a system of UAV drones that would deliver packages within 30 minutes or less.
該公司正準備開發可在半小時內，完成包裹遞送的無人飛行載具（UAV）。
