Have you ever wanted to take a photo or do a photo shoot, but felt you needed to wait until you are good enough for it?
The process of journalling, a habit that I cannot recommend more, is about the experience of reflecting on your day or week, and capturing your journey through writing it down.
You cannot wait for a few months before journalling your day. That day would already be far gone, along with your emotions, revelations and authentic experiences of the day.
It is the same for photography.
You capture who you are in that moment, but you also become the person who you want to be through experiencing how the images are created.
There’s also no waiting around for the ‘perfect’ moment to take a portrait, because that ‘you’ would already be gone, never to be captured or remembered.
Time is the only thing that cannot be rebuilt, but it can be held on to through writing, and in my strong belief, through photos.
