The heart is the container of guidance which is from Allah S.W.T and the Quran.

When the heart is open and receives guidance, it becomes illuminated, revived and alive with the light of iman.
.
This is when you start to see a change in yourself, in your daily life where you begin to do more good deeds that are pleasing to Allah. This is when you start shining bright with Nur ala nur.
.
The fuel of this guidance is in studying, reciting, understanding and acting upon the Quran. So the more we feed the nutrients for our heart and soul, the more we will be able to be steadfast and a consistent source of goodness for everyone.

Here is a brief breakdown :-

-The niche (Mishkah) is the container of guidance and this represents the heart. A heart that has light from Allah SWT ( from the Quran) is one that is illuminated.

-Misbah is the lamp which obtains and gives light.

-Zujajah is glass which protects and spreads the light, our iman. Zujajah can also represent beneficial knowledge, good companionship and a good environment - which helps to protect our iman.

-Olive oil is like the Quran, guidance which is so pure and clear it does not need a match to light it up! It is already lit!

So let us plug into the source of guidance ; Allah and the Quran. The glow of iman is in every heart so let it shine bright!

Salah (prayer) is an obligation upon all muslims. It is iman, dua, worship and our purpose in life.

It is a means of forgiveness, expiation of sins, attaining Jannah, raising our ranks, a means of getting closer to Allah and it is what makes us a muslim. ( A person who submits to the will of Allah completely).

SubhanAllah. This is how important praying is. Brothers and sisters, if you have not prayed in a while, lets start today! It's never too late to sincerely turn back to Him!

The command to pray 5 times a day was a gift given to our Noble Prophet PBUH, after he had lost his wife Khadija R.A, his uncle Abu Talib and after he was rejected at Ta'if. This was a very difficult time for him and it was also known as the year of sorrow. Can you imagine the pain our Prophet PBUH was feeling?

Allah SWT is so Merciful, He gave him the Salah (prayer) during ISRA & MI'RAJ, to give peace and calm to the heart, to energize and to heal the soul. This is for us too! It is our direct line to Allah.

Originally the command was given for us to pray 50x a day! SubhanAllah, we learn from a hadith that, Musa A.S had adviced Prophet Muhammad PBUH to ask for a reduction until it went down to 5. However, we still get the reward of praying 50! How Kind and Loving is our Lord?

Anas ibn Malik reported: Fifty prayers were obligated upon the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, when he was taken on his night journey. Then, it was reduced until it was set at five and an announcement was made, “O Muhammad, My word is never changed, so these five prayers will be counted as fifty.”
