✅ Tranquilizer - just like administering anesthesia isn't one size fits all - the shot mix would take time to get the right drugs in. Then - have you seen a tranquilized animal? It DOESNT peacefully drop to the ground and go to sleep.
It panics. It runs. It becomes violent.
A bullet? Instantly removes danger.
Trust me - I've worked with wildlife for a decade - precisely in the continent this gorilla came from.
This is a TERRIBLE and devastating situating which could have been VERY MUCH WORSE.
However - let's stop reading the news and JUDGING INSTANTLY the decisions taken by trained professionals.
Trust me. You, on your couch; behind your phone - you're not qualified.
You don't see the bigger picture; you have no experience.
This is an emotional situation but the solution had to be anything but.
That's why the child lives - and if you or a loved one find themselves in a REAL life or death situation - trust that a trained progressional will make the RATIONAL not emotional choice to save you.
