Many folks may not know that my first Blues instructor was the Great Tomo Fugita! @tomojustfunky He tried to teach me the importance of phrasing, repetition and leaving space. At that time (being only 18) I was like “Naw, I’m just going to play really really fast and at the end I’ll hold a high note. It took me years to realize what he was trying to teach me. Oh well, better late then never 😁🤦🏽♂️ 🤦🏽♂️
