CÁCH LÀM ĐA DẠNG CẤU TRÚC CÂU TRONG BÀI WRITING
Một trong những tiêu chí chấm điểm của IELTS writing là kiểm tra khả năng viết được những câu dài và khả năng sử dụng đa dạng các cấu trúc câu thay vì những câu với kết cấu S +V đơn thuần
Vậy có những cách nào để khiến cấu trúc câu trở nên phong phú hơn?
Với một đề thi là “what are the advantages and disadvantages of distance learning?”, có những cấu trúc câu như nào chúng ta có thể sử dụng?
⚡ Sử dụng Relative Clause (mệnh đề quan hệ)
- Some learners, especially THOSE HAVING limited time or TAKING postgraduate courses, usually prefer online learning because it offers much greater degree of flexibility
- Some learners, especially THOSE WHO are less self-motivated, can hardly succeed with distance learning
⚡ Sử dụng Reversion (Đảo ngữ) với các từ như HARDLY, SCARELY, RARELY, SELDOM, NO LONGER với nghĩa phủ định, và sử dụng đảo ngữ NOT ONLY...BUT ALSO nếu bạn muốn bổ sung thêm thông tin
- It is hard for less-motivated learners to succeed with distance learning
=> Hardly can some less self-motivated learners succeed with distance learning
- Due to the introduction of some online courses, traditional classes will not be available in the future
=> NO LONGER will traditional classes be available in the future due to the introduction of some online courses.
⚡ Sử dụng Passive Voice (Câu bị động):
- At distance learning courses, students ARE NOT REQUIRED to attend classes in person
NOTE: Trong văn phong học thuật và formal, người Anh hay sử dụng dạng bị động với chủ ngữ giả “it” như “It is widely believed that; It cannot be denied that; it is usually considered that”
- It is widely believed that traditional classes will be replaced by online courses in the future.
⚡ Sử dụng các cấu trúc như: câu điều kiện, so…that…, such…that…, despite, although, in spite of, v.v…
- Although distance learning is usually regarded as state-of-the-art, this kind of learning can bring about several drawbacks.
- Despite regarded as state-of-the-art, distance learning can bring about several drawbacks.
