Had such an AMAZING time at the zoo over the weekend! It started off with breakfast with these beautiful creatures in the background.

Yes, this is an extremely posed image but I'm happy to say, these Sumatran Orangutans were not coerced in any way, except with pumpkin seeds.

The largest one is Ishta. She's the granddaughter of our Singapore tourism icon, Ah Meng, who passed away 8 years ago.

She's being groomed to be the next Ah Meng because of her likeness.

Ah Meng was smuggled from Indonesia to be kept as a pet before she was rescued by a vet at the age of 11. That was when she was given her home at the zoo.
