The heavy downpour woke me up this afternoon when I was taking a quick nap with the baby boy. I dashed to open my bedroom door, thinking "Oh no, the clothes are going to get wet!" because I had forgotten to lower the blinds on the balcony. Yup, it's already a chore doing laundry for five people so I really wouldn't want to have to re-wash and re-hang the clothes.
It was really a sweet surprise when I stepped out and saw that the girls were already in the living room talking quietly between themselves so as not to wake us up, had tidied the house a little, took the initiative to help lower the blinds and also wrote this message on the whiteboard for me to see. You know what I did? I went back into the room and laid down to rest for another 15min or so till the toddler woke up too, feeling thankful and blessed. These kids, they motivate me and give me the strength and energy to be a SAHM, and a better person, in more ways than they know.
Despite I still have to chide and nag at these girls for many things, like making their beds, hanging their wet towels, tidying their study tables, putting their dirty clothes into the laundry basket, drying their hair properly and the hardest of all might be going to bed on time, I think they are slowly but surely becoming more mature and responsible little beings in my household. We still have a long, long way to go, but 2018 seems to have been a good start for us. Let's see what happens in Feb! Thank you, my dears!
