#'97年にAmusement Makersが発売した東方Projectの旧作シリーズ第3作目であり、'97年のコミックマーケット53にて発表された。ZUN氏曰く「左右で怒首領蜂(AC/'97年)をやってるティンクルスターティンクルスタースプライツ(AC/'96年)」。
ある日、靈夢は境内を掃除中に遺跡を発見、邪魔なので何とかしようとするが遺跡前には 「夢幻遺跡内 定員1名まで （以下略）」と書かれてあった。
ストーリーモードでは複数の機体から自機を選び全9ステージを制覇する。前作以前から引き続き登場するキャラは、博麗靈夢、魅魔、霧雨魔理沙、今作から登場するキャラはエレン、小兎姫、カナ・アナベラル、朝倉理香子、北白河ちゆり、岡崎夢美。
BGMはZUN氏がP.M.D. を使い作曲、opn版、opna版が存在する。。
