When it comes to parents, there are so many places in the Qur'an where Allah commands us to;
Be kind to them (17:23)
To do Ihsaan (utmost good) to them (31:14)
To be merciful with them (17:24)
To be thankful to them (31:14)
To make duaa for them. (17:24)
It's beautiful when you think about it...
Because when *we* were helpless and dependent little beings,
They were kind to us
They did Ihsaan to us
They were merciful to us
They were thankful *for* us
And they made Duaa for us
...Without ever being "commanded" to do so!
They utilized their youth and exhausted their energies taking the best care of us without being asked to, so Allah (SWT) reminds us about their rights- on *their* behalf.
Subhaanallah ❤️
As a mom myself, every single day is a constant reminder that the unconditional sacrifices of our parents will always, always eclipse the good we do for them.
...For how can you ever do enough to the ones who loved you even before you were born?
"My Rabb, bestow on them Your Mercy as they did bring me up when I was small."(17:24)
