Wut...?
★★★★★★★★★★★★
When it comes to communicating in English with an international audience, native speakers don’t always do so well.
Sometimes, such inability to accommodate non-native speakers can lead to substantial financial losses for multinational companies.

Picture this: A group of nonnative English speakers is in a room. There are people from Germany, Singapore, South Korea, Nigeria and France. They're having a great time speaking to each other in English, and communication is smooth.
•picture(v.)
•have a great time doing sth

And then an American walks into the room. The American speaks quickly, using esoteric jargon ("let's take a holistic approach") and sports idioms ("you hit it out of the park!"). And the conversation trickles to a halt.
•trickle to a halt
*hit/knock the ball out of the park

Decades of research shows that when a native English speaker enters a conversation among nonnative speakers, understanding goes down. Global communication specialist Heather Hansen tells us that's because the native speaker doesn't know how to do what nonnative speakers do naturally: speak in ways that are accessible to everyone, using simple words and phrases.
ᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯᕯ
And yet, as Hansen points out, this more accessible way of speaking is often called "bad English." There are whole industries devoted to "correcting" English that doesn't sound like it came from a native British or American speaker. …It turns out that these definitions of "good" and "bad" English may be counterproductive if our goal is to communicate as effectively as possible.
•point sth out 指出
•turn out …

A balance needs to be struck. There is also a clear difference between helping students improve their English in a classroom and being overly judgmental in a business meeting (or on the Internet ><).
However, if the goal is to communicate effectively with an international audience, native speakers could be more accommodating. At least, that's the view taken by the articles below.

Just weeks after George Floyd lost his life at the hands of Minneapolis police officers, another African-American man has been fatally shot by police outside of a Wendy’s restaurant in Atlanta, Georgia.
On the evening of June 12, police arrived at the Wendy’s parking lot in response to a call about a car blocking the drive-through lane. Finding 27-year-old Rayshard Brooks asleep in his car, Officer Devin Brosnan wakes him up and asks him if he’s been drinking. Brooks admits that he has, and after checking his driver’s license, Brosnan calls for backup.
When Officer Garrett Rolfe arrives several minutes later, he pats Brooks down and gives him a sobriety test, which he fails. “I think you’ve had too much to drink to be driving,” Rolfe tells Brooks. “Put your hands behind your back.” But when Rolfe tries to handcuff Brooks—who was calm and cooperative up till then—he begins resisting arrest.
After a struggle with the two officers, Brooks manages to grab Brosnan’s Taser and escape. As Rolfe chases Brooks, he turns around and fires the Taser at the officer. Rolfe then draws his gun and fires three shots, two of which hit Brooks in the back. An ambulance arrives for Brooks several minutes later, but he dies during surgery shortly thereafter.
Opinions about the shooting are divided. Many believe the use of lethal force against Brooks wasn’t justified, while others feel that Rolfe made the right decision in shooting a fleeing criminal who’s just taken a police weapon and fired it at him.
In any case, the Atlanta police chief resigned the next day, Rolfe was fired, and Brosnan was placed on desk duty. That same evening, protesters began gathering at the Wendy’s where Brooks was shot, and within hours the restaurant was engulfed in flames. Yes, America is still burning.

4 ways to relax at home
Working from home (WFH) has become increasingly common in the wake of Covid-19. You used to look forward to the good times of WFH every day when sitting at the office, but it turns out that the long-term WFH days are not that great! The various inconveniences in work and daily life become stressful, and you can not go out to take a break. What can you do at home to reduce stress? Have you tried the following four ways to relax?
.Online shopping / Adding products to your shopping cart
The time you spend at home has greatly increased, corresponding to the increased frequency of online shopping. Many online stores have launched special discounts at this time. The online promo codes satisfy your shopping desire when you can not go out to shop. Online shopping is indeed one of the ways to reduce stress, but if you want to avoid impulsive shopping, you may wish to add your favorite items to the shopping cart, wait for three days to determine what are "must buy" and "not needes" items, to avoid excessive shopping.
.Sniffing cat / pet / baby
Cat lovers are in luck. “Cat sniffing” is an internet buzzword that means sniffing a cat to reduce stress because of its relieving fragrance. The situation is similar to a mother sniffing her baby. It will produce oxytocin which makes people feel good. If you have other pets, you may give it a try. If you do not have a pet, watching animal videos might also help!
.Cleaning
Cleaning sounds annoying and boring, but it is actually a good way to reduce stress, because in addition to a refreshed home environment, it also brings satisfaction and a sense of accomplishment, which help people feel that "everything is under control". When your mind feels chaotic, you may wish to put down the work at hand first and tidy up your home. The problem may be resolved.
.Trying new recipes
Cooking happens on a daily basis, but it is also a way to reduce stress. If you feel stressed at work, you may try cooking a new recipe. If you want to get the most satisfaction and sense of accomplishment, you may choose to make a less difficult but good looking cuisine. The good example is the trendy “Dalonga coffee”, use instant coffee, hot water and sugar to stir 400 times, you can make a very eye-catching milk foam caramel coffee, which is very satisfying.
