ÂM THANH CỦA TỰ DO TỪ NGUYỄN HỒNG GIANG
Nguyễn Hồng Giang là một nghệ sĩ và nhà sản xuất âm nhạc hiện đang sống và làm việc tại Sài Gòn. Bắt đầu từ 11 năm học piano cổ điện tại Nhạc viện Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh, anh hoạt động trong lĩnh vực âm nhạc thể nghiệm và hiện tại làm việc với vị trí một nhà sản xuất âm nhạc lấn sân trên rất nhiều thể loại: Hip-Hop, Rock, nhạc điện tử. Anh là người đứng sau những hit như 'Cho Họ Ghét Đi Em' của Huỳnh James, 'I Lab You' của Tiên Tiên hay 'Chết Đi Cho Rồi' của Cam và vô số các ca khúc khác. Ngoài ra Giang cũng đã từng tham gia rất nhiều các liên hoan âm nhạc tại Việt Nam cũng như trong Châu Á như Hanoi Sound Stuff, Hanoi New Music Meeting, Asian Meeting Festival, SoundLab 2016. Năm 2019, Nguyễn Hồng Giang đã release album Screenshot - tổng hợp 22 ca khúc mà anh hợp tác & sản xuất cho các nghệ sĩ Việt Nam.
🙏Hỏi: Chào anh Giang! Cảm ơn anh đã nhận lời mời phỏng vấn. Được biết anh đã phát hành một album Hip-Hop có tên là 'Cuộc Chơi', với sự tham gia của 13 rapper khách mời. Anh có thể bật mí quá trình lên ý tưởng và thực hiện album này?
🔥Trả lời: 'Cuộc Chơi' được phát hành vào tháng 10/2015, kế hoạch thì được bắt đầu từ tháng 7/2015. Ý tưởng được đến một cách ngẫu nhiên, nó đến cũng đúng thời điểm bởi vì năm 2015 kế hoạch âm nhạc của anh là phải có một album Hip-Hop. Về phần thực hiện thì cũng không có gì đặc biệt, anh làm một loạt beat nhạc sau đó mời các rapper tham gia. Công đoạn làm beat tốn khoảng 2 ngày, sử dụng nhiều chất âm thanh từ nhạc trap và Electro, Old-school Hip-Hop và những âm thanh của riêng anh.
🙏Hỏi: 'Cuộc Chơi' đánh dấu một bước tiến xa so với khởi đầu của anh là một nghệ sĩ chơi nhạc thể nghiệm và harsh noise. Điều gì đã thôi thúc anh trở thành một nhà sản xuất âm nhạc đa thể loại?
🔥Trả lời: Ngay từ lúc bắt đầu anh đã thích làm nhiều thể loại âm nhạc khác nhau. Anh không phải là nghệ sĩ chơi nhạc thể nghiêm hay harsh noise, hoặc là producer. Anh không đặt mục tiêu mình sẽ là ai mà chỉ tập trung hoàn thành những gì mình thích và lên kế hoạch cho âm nhạc do chính mình tạo ra. Âm nhạc là một thế giới rộng lớn luôn luôn thôi thúc anh phiêu lưu và khám phá. Đồng thời nó cũng là một trò chơi không bao giờ chán trong cuộc sống của anh, cảm giác giống như đang chơi game nhập vai vậy.
🙏Hỏi: Nghệ sĩ hoặc nhóm nhạc nào mà anh đã từng làm việc khiến anh cảm thấy ấn tượng? Kỉ niệm nào đối với anh là đáng nhớ nhất trong quá trình sản xuất âm nhạc? Năm 2015 cũng là năm anh hoạt động tích cực với các nghệ sĩ Hip-Hop ở Sài Gòn. Trải nghiệm này đã mang đến cho anh những điều gì thú vị?
🔥Trả lời: Có rất nhiều những nghệ sĩ và band nhạc mà anh cảm thấy ấn tượng khi làm việc chung gần đây nhất là Táo, Cam, Emcee K từ Sài Gòn và rapper Nuvon đến từ Busan, Hàn Quốc. Họ có nhiều cá tính rất đặc biệt và tài năng.
Mỗi giai đoạn anh đều có những kỉ niểm đáng nhớ riêng. Như năm 2006, anh một mình chơi nhạc black metal. Năm 2009, anh lập nên dự án harsh noise 'Writher' và trình diễn 2 buổi đầu tiên tại Nhà hát tuổi trẻ và Nhạc viện Thành phố Hồ Chí Minh. Không thể kể đến giai đoạn sản xuất nhạc cho Time Keeper, giai đoạn gặp và làm nhạc cùng với những người bạn trong giới Hip-Hop, giai đoạn trình diễn tại Asian Meeting Festival và gặp những những người bạn đều có những ngôn ngữ âm nhạc gần giống như mình. Điều đó giúp anh cảm thấy anh không hề cô đơn trong thế giới âm nhạc rộng lớn này.
🙏Hỏi: Ngoài ra, anh còn là một nghệ sĩ biểu diễn hoạt động tích cực trong giới underground ở Sài Gòn - và là người đồng sáng lập Viet Music Reunion - chuyên tổ chức các buổi diễn underground. Theo anh, hoạt động của Viet Music Reunion có ảnh hưởng như thế nào đến cộng đồng nghệ sĩ địa phương?
🔥Trả lời: Viet Music Reunion là một sân chơi mở cho tất cả nghệ sĩ, bất cứ ai cũng có thể thể hiện âm nhạc của chính mình tại những chương trình tổ chức mỗi tháng. Anh cũng không biết nó sẽ tạo ra ảnh hưởng như thế nào, chỉ biết tiếp tục hoạt động và phát triển.
🙏Hỏi: Ngoài những hoạt động ở Sài Gòn, anh còn biểu diễn ở Hà Nội và một số quốc gia châu Á như Nhật Bản và gần đây nhất tại Soundlab 2016 ở Malaysia và Ordinary ở Thái Lan. Anh có thể nói thêm về những hoạt động âm nhạc anh đã làm trong thời gian ở các quốc gia này?
🔥Trả lời: SoundLab 2016 là một dự án mà 13 nghệ sỹ đến từ nhiều quốc gia khác nhau có 10 ngày sống và làm nhạc tại resort The Dusun tại Malaysia. Trong khoảng thời gian ở Malaysia anh có làm nhiều bài mới và sẽ có mặt trong CD tổng hợp của SoundLab.
Tháng 5 vừa rồi anh có tham gia trình diễn tại chương trình Ordinary 2016 ở Thái Lan. Tại sự kiện đó anh trình diễn ngẫu hứng cùng với visual của LongX [Cao Hoàng Long]. Cả hai cũng không có sự chuẩn bị gì trước, chắc cũng mấy năm rồi mới làm việc lại cùng nhau.
🙏Hỏi: Song song với việc hợp tác cùng các nghệ sĩ địa phương, anh vẫn thường xuyên phát hành các album noise và sound art trên Bandcamp. Đâu là nguồn cảm hứng khiến anh giữ một nhịp độ làm việc đều đặn như vậy?
🔥Trả lời: Làm nhạc không chỉ là công việc mà nó đã trở thành một phần không thể thiếu trong cuộc sống của anh. Anh làm nhạc như người ta cần ăn uống mỗi ngày. Việc làm nhạc đã trở thành thói quen và cảm hứng của anh cũng đến từ đó.
🙏Hỏi: Các tác phẩm noise và sound art của anh có sự thay đổi đáng kể theo thời gian. Khi mới bắt đầu sự nghiệp, chất liệu hầu hết là analog, và sau này chuyển dần sang digital. Lí do nào dẫn tới sự chuyển đổi này? Anh muốn khám phá những ý tưởng, phương hướng nào qua những thử nghiệm này?
🔥Trả lời: Nó không hẳn là sự chuyển đổi - anh vẫn sử dụng và kết hợp cả hai với nhau. Sau này vì lý do công việc mở phòng thu, sản xuất âm nhạc nên hầu hết toàn bộ thời gian anh phải làm việc với digital nhiều hơn. Điều đó giúp anh tiện lợi lưu trữ, quản lý tất cả âm thanh và ý tưởng của riêng mình.
🙏Hỏi: Ngoài ra, em còn được biết anh có việt một patch (*) dành cho cả việc sản xuất lẫn trình diễn, anh có thể giải thích thêm về nó?
🔥Trả lời: Patch này có tên là 'The Architect'. Nó giúp anh điều khiển, trình diễn và phác thảo ý tưởng, thiết kế và biến đổi âm thanh. 'The Architect' có thể sử dụng cho tất cả thể loại âm nhạc và được anh viết hoàn tất trên Audio Mulch và Bidule. Anh sẽ cập nhật phiên bản trên Max MSP và Reaktor nếu anh có thời gian. Ngoài ra anh có thiết kế controller để điều khiển patch này trên Ipad. Trong tương lai nếu kiếm được người làm chung anh sẽ biến nó thành phiên bản standalone.
🙏Hỏi: Những chất liệu âm thanh nào thường xuyên xuất hiện trong âm nhạc của anh ? Chúng có ý nghĩa như thế nào đối với anh?
🔥Trả lời: Anh sử dụng rất nhiều chất liệu âm thanh khác nhau để làm nhạc. Đặc biệt anh thích nhất là feedback, distortion, những âm thanh có tần số cao xuất hiện trong black metal, death metal, grindcore, drone doom, dark ambient - những thể loại âm nhạc mà anh rất thích nghe trong khoảng thời gian học piano tại Nhạc Viện.
🙏Hỏi: Em được biết trong lĩnh vực nhạc thể nghiệm và sản xuất âm nhạc, anh là một nghệ sĩ tự học. Việc tự học đã cho anh những điều gì giá trị và những thử thách như thế nào?
🔥Trả lời: Việc tự học giúp anh có thể tùy ý làm và thử nghiệm tất cả những gì mính muốn. Thử thách chỉnh là nó sẽ không giải đáp thắc mắc cho mình mà chính mình phải tự trả lời câu hỏi.
🙏Hỏi: Anh còn có những dự án ngoài lề rất thú vị khác, trong đó có thể kể đến dự án instrumental rock Time Keeper. Câu chuyện đằng sau sự thành lập của dự án này là gì?
🔥Trả lời: Câu chuyện rất đơn giản: Một ngày, anh đang làm nhạc ở studio thì anh Tô đến chơi và tình cờ ngẫu hứng với cây guitar. Anh thu âm lại sau đó phối bài và dàn dựng thành một tác phẩm âm nhạc hoàn chỉnh. Từ đó cả hai lập nên Time Keeper. Time Keeper đã có nhiều buổi trình diễn tại Sài Gòn. Anh Tô chơi guitar và anh chơi keyboard.
🙏Hỏi: Điều gì khiến anh tâm đắc nhất khi thực hiện album và chơi nhạc cùng với anh Tô?
🔥Trả lời: Cả hai đều có cuộc sống và con đường khác nhau nhưng vẫn có thể tạo ra âm nhạc của chính mình. Đó là điều anh tâm đắc nhất khi chơi nhạc cùng anh Tô.
🙏Hỏi: Time Keeper đã ghi dấu ấn đậm nét trong giới underground rock tại Việt Nam trước khi ngừng hoạt động. Liệu Time Keeper sẽ tái hợp trong thời gian sắp tới?
🔥Trả lời: Có thể sẽ tái hợp nếu cả hai có thời gian.
🙏Hỏi: Quan điểm của anh về hai khái niệm underground và mainstream như thế nào?
🔥Trả lời: Hai khái niệm đó không quan trọng đối với anh, anh chỉ quan tâm đến âm nhạc.
🙏Hỏi: Với anh thì âm nhạc có ý nghĩa như thế nào?
🔥Trả lời: Kết nối, cảm nhận, và còn nhiều nữa. Âm nhạc đã đưa anh đến nơi mình muốn đến, gặp những người mình biết chắc là sẽ gặp.
🙏Hỏi: Nếu dùng ba từ để miêu tả âm nhạc của anh, anh sẽ dùng những từ gì?

- Dự án 'OUTNHG' tổng cộng 520 bài nhạc thể nghiệm (tính đến 2019) do Nguyễn Hồng Giang sản xuất, phát hành dưới định dạng kỹ thuật số, tất cả đều nằm trong USB. Ý tưởng cuả dự án này Giang đã lên kế hoạch từ 2010, nhưng cho đến tận năm 2015 mới bắt đầu thực hiện và đi sâu vào nó, trong khoảng thời gian đó Giang vẫn hoạt động nhiều dự án âm nhạc khác, như Time Keeper và những dự án về nhạc điện tử, Hip-Hop, phòng thu .v..v. Dự án 'OUTNHG' vẫn đang được tiếp tục phát triển thêm, và tiến tới sẽ Nguyễn Hồng Giang có dự định phát hành cả Game.
- Noise Music là tiếng ồn âm nhạc. Loại hình âm nhạc này có thể xem là nghệ thuật sử dụng âm thanh, chấp nhận dung hòa tất cả mọi yếu tố của âm thanh như giai điệu, tạp âm, tiếng ồn, sự bất ổn trong tâm hồn, tiếng vọng từ tiềm thức… và tái hiện lại trong hiện thực. Những tiếng ồn đó được nghệ sỹ làm biến dạng qua các dụng cụ điện tử tạo ra tín hiệu âm thanh, độ vang, biến dạng sóng âm, có thể là âm thanh sống… tất cả tạo ra phục vụ cho ý tưởng của mình. Không giới hạn. Nôm na là đẩy sự cực đoan lên cao, bóp méo và làm cho sống động hơn. Nhiều nghệ sỹ trên thế giới theo đuổi Noise Music hoặc sử dụng chất liệu Noise Music như: Iannis Xenakis, Karlheinz Stockhausen, Takehisa Kosugi, Yasunao…
- Tháng 11/2019, Nguyễn Hồng Giang đã tham dự chương trình 'Music Box: Into the Noise' (được tổ chức bởi VCCA) nhằm giới thiệu, chia sẻ về nhạc Noise. Qua sự kiện này, Nguyễn Hồng Giang đã trình diễn những tác phẩm trong dự án OUTNHG cùng đó kèm với hiệu ứng thị giác - đây là dự án gồm những thực hành nhạc Noise bởi Nguyễn Hồng Giang kéo dài từ năm 2017 đến nay. Bên cạnh đó, Giang đã chia sẻ với khán giả về nhạc Noise nói chung và các khía cạnh, các ứng dụng khác của nhạc Noise trong các dự án của anh.

การเรียนรู้สมองมี 2 โหมดได้แก่
👉 1) โหมด FOCUSED
เป็นโหมดของสมองที่กำลังโฟกัส
หรือมีสมาธิเพื่อคิดทำบางสิ่งบางอย่างอยู่
โหมดนี้ สมองจะใช้แนวทางเดิมๆ เพื่อแก้ปัญหา
ทำให้เรามุ่งมั่นหาทางแก้ปัญา หรือพยายามค้นหาปัญหาให้ได้โดยไว

😀 ข้อดี ทำให้เรามีสมาธิ มุ่งที่จะบรรลุงานนั้นๆ ให้สำเสร็จโดยไว
เช่น กำลังเขียนโปรแกรมอยู่ ต้องโฟกัส จดจ่อเพื่อให้งานเสร็จ

😱 ข้อเสีย จะเกิดการวนลูปทางความคิด
เช่น ตอนเจอบั๊กในโปรแกรม
เราก็จะวนลูป ใช้วิธีเดิมแก้ไปหาซ้ำๆ อยู่นั้นแหละ
พยายามกดคีย์บอร์ดด้วยวิธีการเดิมๆ
จนนิ้วจะแทงทะลุแป้นพิมพ์อยู่แล้ว
ก็แก้บั๊กไม่ได้เสียที ...จนอยากร้องไห้

ที่เป็นเยี่ยงนี้ก็เพราะสมองไม่ยอมมองหาทางออก
ไม่ออกจากกรอบคิดแบบเดิมๆ นั่นเองครับ
นับเป็นข้อเสียของสมองโหมดนี้

👉 2) โหมดที่สองคือ โหมด DIFFUSED
เป็นโหมดของสมองที่กำลังคิด
เมื่ออยู่ในภาวะผ่อนคลาย หรือพักผ่อน
เช่นตอนที่เราเดินเล่น ขับรถ ฟังเพลง อาบน้ำ เข้าส้วม หรือกระทั่งนอนหลับ ฯลฯ เป็นต้น

ถ้านึกไม่ออก ก็นึกถึงตอนที่เราติดปัญหาอะไรซะอย่าง
พอหัวเราจะแตะถึงหมอนอยู่แล้ว ดันคิดออกมาได้เฉยเลย
หรือบ่อยครั้งที่นอนหลับไป
พอตื่นขึ้นมาหา ไอเดียแก้ปัญหาดันปิ้งแว็บออกมา

😀 ข้อดี โหมดนี้เอาไว้ใช้แก้ปัญหาที่คุณไม่เคยเห็นมาก่อน หรือยากที่จะเข้าใจ
สามารถใช้คิดพวกไอเดีย หรือคอนเซ็ป ความคิดสร้างสรรค์แปลกๆ ใหม่ๆ ทำให้เราคิดนอกกรอบเดิมได้

เช่น ช่วยหาทางแก้บั๊กในโปรแกรม
ในมุมหนึ่งที่ไม่เคยนึกถึงมาก่อน
ช่วยให้แหกกฏเกณฑ์เดิมที่เราติดปัญหาอยู่ได้

😱 ข้อเสีย โหมดนี้มันทำงานเมื่อเราผ่อนคลาย
เช่น โปรแกรมเมอร์ตอนกลางวัน
แก้บั๊กแทบตายทั้งวัน แก้ไม่ได้สักที
พอเลิกงานกลับบ้านปุ๊บ
กำลังจะงีบหลับ ดันคิดออกมาได้ ...โธ่ชีวิต

หรือบางคนมีสกิลพิเศษ แก้บั๊กในความฝันได้
จนต้องสะดุ้งตื่น
จากโปรแกรมเมอร์ กลายร่างเป็นนกฮูก
ไม่ยอมหลับยอมนอน เขียนโปรแกรมจนเสร็จ

ถ้าเราเข้าใจคอนเซปต์ของสมอง 2 โหมดนี้ละก็
- ตอนแก้ปัญหาไม่ออกก็สลับไปใช้ โหมด DIFFUSED ซะ
- เมื่อได้ไอเดียมาแล้ว ก็สลับไปใช้โหมด FOCUSED ต่อ

แต่ทั้งนี้เราต้องเข้าใจเสียก่อนว่า
มนุษย์โลกทุกคนไม่สามารถใช้ 2 โหมดนี้ได้พร้อมกัน ...เศร้า
ต้องเลือกระหว่างโหมด FOCUSED หรือโหมด DIFFUSED
เลือกให้ทำงานโหมดใดโหมดหนึ่งเท่านั้น

ดังนั้นเราต้องหัดสลับสมอง 2 โหมดให้เป็นนะครับ

ซึ่งวิธีสลับโหมดของสมอง
มันมีประโยชน์ตอนทำงาน
หรือจะตอนอ่านหนังสือสอบก็ได้

วิธีสลับโหมด ผมขอเสนอ 2 วิธีแล้วกัน
👉 1) ใช้เทคนิคคือ "Pomodoro Technique"
คือให้ทำงานไป 25 นาที (โหมด FOCUSED)
แล้วผ่อนคลายอีก 5 นาที (DIFFUSED)

แต่วิธีนี้อาจไม่เหมาะ ตอนเอาไปใช้ในทำงานจริงเท่าไร
...เพราะถ้าหัวหน้างานเห็นเราทำแบบนี้
คงคิดว่าเราอู้งาน ทำไป หยุดไป
เราอาจดัดแปลง ทำไปได้สักชั่วโมง สองชั่วโมง
เมื่อสมองล้า ก็พักเบรกเสียบ้าง จิบกลางแฟ แชทคุยกับแฟน
เล่นเกมคลายเครียด เดินยืดเส้นยือดสาย เข้าไปนั่งในส้วมเล่นๆ
ทำสัก 5-10 นาที พอ
...แต่ทั้งนี้หัวหน้างานต้องเข้าใจนะ ว่าเรากำลังผ่อนคลาย
...เป็นเทคนิคการคิดงานโดยใช้สมองโหมด DIFFUSED
.
👉 2) หรือเราจะปล่อยให้คิดงานทั้งวันไปเลย
แล้วถ้าพระอาทิตย์ตกดิน ยังคิดไม่ออกละก็
อย่าไปซีเรียส ให้กลับบ้านเข้านอนโดยไว
เพื่อให้สมองเข้าสู่โหมด DIFFUSED โดยธรรมชาติ
เป็นการรีเซทความคิดใหม่ พอตื่นขึ้นมาสมองโล่งคิดออก
รุ่งเช้าค่อยกลับมาเข้าโหมด FOCUSED เพื่อทำงานต่อไป
