Wee has been passionate about food his whole life. He grew up in Bangkok, where his family owned and operated a restaurant. Wee first learned about cuisine from the cooks at his family’s restaurant. After studying at Kasetsart University, Wee moved to the US, more specifically to Washington, DC, where he has been a chef for over 30 years. Most of Wee’s professional life has been as an Executive Chef for top American Steakhouses, including The Palm in DC, and Morton’s Steakhouse in Crystal City, VA. Chef Wee has cooked for National football teams, including the Washington Redskins and Washington Wizards, and for Presidents and Powerbrokers, including Bill Clinton, George Bush Sr., and John McCain. Despite working in major steakhouses for over 20 years, Wee never forgot his roots or his love for world cuisine. His restaurant daily specials often included Thai, Chinese, French, and Italian dishes, along with other fare from around the world. Between his long tenure with The Palm, and later with Morton’s, Wee spent three years as a managing partner and executive chef of a stunning dinner club on the DC waterfront. He also spent a year as the executive chef of the Westin Hotel at National Harbor, in Maryland.
