為慶祝國際女童日，台灣第一位女性棒球主審劉柏君 （Sophiyah Liu）10月9日在新北市三重棒球場舉辦了一個女孩棒球營。柏君同時也是2017年「GSMP 全球運動督導計畫」學友以及「台灣運動好事協會」創辦人。透過一日活動，讓75位五到九年級的女孩體驗了打棒球的樂趣與運動家精神。新北市副市長謝政達、台北大學校友會代表、與會貴賓與柏君都鼓勵女孩們打破性別的框架，勇於追求自己的理想。#InternationalDayoftheGirlChild

In celebration of the annual International Day of the Girl Child, Ms. Po-Chun Liu, the first female baseball umpire in Taiwan, the 2017 GSMP alumnus and the founder of Taiwan Sport Forward Association, conducted a baseball camp for 75 girls at the New Taipei City Sanchong Baseball Stadium on October 9, 2020. The participants experienced the fun of playing baseball and appreciated the value of the sportsmanship through this one-day event. New Taipei City Deputy Mayor Mr. Hsieh Cheng-Ta, the representatives from Taipei University Alumni Association, the invited guests and Po-Chun encouraged the participants to break the boundaries of the gender stereotype and pursue what they want.

Welcoming New Students of IIUM & Handing Over Lap Top to B40 Students

This morning, I was addressing about almost 4,000 IIUM new students in 3 different campuses on line. This was my first exprience talking in a big hall but having small audience. I was hoping to welcome and greet them in person but we need to appreciate the severity of Covid 19 fully. We cant underestimate Corona Virus. It will be a grave mistake to do so.

I talked about pillars of life and pillars of IIUM to make the life and the university relatable to them for the next 4 years.

Susequently thereafter, we had a small session of handing over a few units of lap top to B40 students who were present in the big hall. All of these units are kindly provided by the alumni through IIUM Alumni Association. We thank them and we pray for them for their generosity (with special thanks to Br Khaliq Awang, the President of Association). We hope all our students will contribute back to the university when they are already in job space. Give back time. Let many others enjoy your wealth and your good heart. Wealth is meant to be distributed and circulated around.
